My 2007 Toyota Tundra 5.7 is very noisey in the morning and all the dealer will say is that it is normal. I have really written the issue off because ths is a 3 year lease and will trade it in then on a new model-as long as the noise has been corrected. Read More...

Could you please email me at wingnutfe@yahoo.com, I have the same 07 Tundra 5.7 "KNOCK" not lifter "tick" that you seem to have had. I have taken it to the dealer, 1st time they told me it was normal lifter noise and when you stand outside the truck it does sound like lifters. The sound I am hearing inside the truck at all temps is a knock, most profound at low idle speed ... Read More...

An update from my initial post on the oil requirememts for the 2008 Tundra 5.7L engine. I contacted Toyota and was told 0W-20W synthetic oil was used at the factory and is the recommended oil. I will be taking the e-mails to the dealer. They also stated if petroleum based oil is used you can't go back to synthetic. Also the stated oil requirements are right on the oil ... Read More...

Hey Rube...we grew up on farms too with F 250's and Cheyenne 2500's with 454 V8's. You know as well as i do that real farm work must be done with heavy duty 3/4 tons or more. Half tons are not and never will be designed for heavy duty use. You can put as big a springs and lift kits and big tires on half tons all you want but that does not change the fact that the frame is not designed ... Read More...
