Review

Excellent truck and excellent local dealer. Problems: In 18 months I had 3 radios, 3 rear bumpers, 2 alloy wheels repainted, and new set of tires. In 18 months I averaged 17.5 MPG. The truck is fun to drive and very functional. Went to Toyota due to problems with U.S. vehicles - now having problems with Toyota.

Favorite Features

Ride, handling, and appearance.

Suggested Improvements

Better quality control.

Review

Owned 5 Chevys and 7 Fords. In 2001 I purchased a Chevy Silverado Ext Cab 4wd. Chevy has a decent ride. That is it. In 7 years I have stuck $10,000 over and above the normal maintenance. Their cust. Service is terrible. My wife describes my Tundra's ride as a limousine. Of course it isn't but for a Heavy Duty truck is is a nice ride. I can't wait to install Bridgestone Duelers on it. I have a 3" lift kit on the front and 1" on rear to level it out. Looks great!I highly recommend this truck. Plenty of performance and great braking. My father's averages 2.5 mpg less; however, he drives aggressively ALL the time. I get 15-17 mpg. Get TRD. Not enough space to properly review this fine truck.

Favorite Features

Awesome 12 speaker JBL stereo, especially with a MP3 player. The speakers require over 80 hours to break in. 4wd is great. Other reviews of off base. TRD package is a must.Improves performance and ride. Up/down rear power window is great.Sonar in bumpers is user friendly. I also like the memory seats.

Suggested Improvements

Get rid of the black dash as it shows dust too easy. Get clear coat protection on bumper and front half of hood to protect from rock chips. Headlights are too bright. Too often oncoming vehicles think I have the brights on. Install a tailgate step.

The cd never worked it eats cd's, never fixed. Immediately after the warranty went out 2 expensive air pumps went out. Toyota is aware of the problem in these trucks, parts to replace are on back order. We are paying 920.00 a month for a truck we can't drive. They have no idea when parts available. The repairs take an hour and truck has been in shop over a week and no idea when parts will be in. Dealership has no compassion for our problems. We thought we would have a dependable vehicle. We have only had 1 year.

fewer break downs and parts available , especially with known problems

Review

I traded in my '04 Toyota Tundra Double Cab for a Limited '07 Tundra Double Cab which was a dealership demo. I like both versions. The newer model has a few quirks. The ride is definitely not as refined as previous generations of Tundras. The blue tooth phone system cannot dial anyone in my cell phone directory via voice dialing (otherwise it is excellent). I replaced a factory radio due to a funny noise. The new Tundra design has a lot more power. It is more fun to drive. I also have two shedding dogs, and I appreciate the fact the interior is easy to clean. Something other than the silver plastic interior finish would have been very nice.

Favorite Features

Power/heated leather seats with variable controls are nice. Auto dimming mirrors are a good touch. Back up system works great. Vehicle's power makes up for lack of comfort. Fuel economy is decent for a truck. Exterior styling is great! I love the easy lower tailgate.

Suggested Improvements

Seat belt chime is way too long. I always use my seat belt, but either one of my dogs can trip the passenger one by moving around. Wide roof pillars can obstruct visibility when making turns. Stability control automatically cuts out in four wheel drive. No power rear window like on '04 model.

Review

I was a Dodge guy for years until I got sick of replacing brakes and front ends every 10,000 miles. I've had my Tundra for just over a year, and it's by far the best truck I've ever owned. It's fast, smooth, reliable, and eagerly takes on any weather the Northeast can dish out. I will never buy another brand again. As long as Toyota makes the Tundra, I'll own one.

Favorite Features

Exterior design, brilliant red color, 5.7L motor, wicked towing capacity, smooth drive.

Suggested Improvements

Easier driver access to center console controls, allow driver to turn off the damn bells and warnings! I don't need to listen to 20 minutes of "dinging" to let me know my seatbelt is unclipped. I know it's undone.

Review

My wife and I had been shopping for a truck for quite some time. We do a lot of weekend projects renovating houses and needed a vehicle that could support our growing family on trips to home depot and family vacations. My mind was set on the Chevrolet Silverado but my wife had looked at the Tundra and insisted that I take it for a test drive. Being a good husband I promptly did so, and was blown away. The amount of space in the truck is amazing. Others have talked about bed bounce but I have yet to encounter it and I have taken several long road trips in the truck. My only problem so far is when I first purchased the truck I had a defect in one of the tires. Dealer service was horrible.

Favorite Features

Engine power, amount of passenger space in the rear seat, overall ride

Suggested Improvements

Trucks fine, work on customer relations in the service department

I have had this truck for a year and a half now and it's falling apart. None of the lights work inside, I can not turn up or down the volume on the radio, the steering has gotten so loose and I could swear the tie rods are broke. I had high hopes for this truck but no go.

Favorite Features

Engine power and 6 speed tranny.

Suggested Improvements

Put more Toyota quality in it!

Review

Recently bought my first pick-up ever. I took a lot of test drives in all kind of pick-ups, including the Tacoma but when I jumped into my 07 Tundra it was love at first site. I'm 6,4'' and was impressed by the legroom and the overall ride. This truck handles the steep hills and mountains of Puerto Rico very well. And with its bold, sleek look it's kinda fun to drive. The wide hood takes awhile to get used to, though. Overall, it handles pretty well. I'll give you a better rating in about 10 yrs. Thats how long I plan on keeping it. I'm glad I got this, instead of the F150. I'm happy.

Favorite Features

Bold, sleek look (in black), seats are comfortable, middle folding down console with cup holders and little compartments, nice overhead console with sunglasses holder.

Suggested Improvements

The shifting knob is too big and long, keeps hitting the wiper knob. Put the wiper knob behind headlight knob. Turn signal lights on outside side mirrors. A brake light on the gate. Make cruise control standard on all models.

Review

It's been 6 months since we purchased our '07 in April '08. And we have no regrets. We don't haul anything big like trailers, but we do a lot of activities like paddling, fishing, diving, surfing and wanted something that was nice, reliable and could go anywhere. The truck is thirsty and living on Maui with no freeways probably doesn't help fuel consumption. However we did choose the Bigger V8 for fun and not fuel consumption. Taken the 4x4 TRD off road and I have not had to put it into 4 LOW. Truck is too wide to get into areas that most jeeps can get too. I've put 10,000 miles in 6 months and changed the oil twice. No problems to report of. A good buy. Gets a lot of oohs/ahs.

Favorite Features

Roominess. Hydraulic truck bed. Great ground clearance. Major Power. Huge brakes. Full size but still fits in normal stalls. Sliding rear seats.

Suggested Improvements

Better stereo system. Cluttered gauges.

Review

Excellent truck so far but I have a few nits: In the interior the hard plastic dash could have been better. For example, a rubberized feel like on an Audi - especially on the Limited you would expect better materials. The shift knob is massive. And I wish you could disable the very annoying seatbelt alarm, and auto locking doors when you put the truck in drive. The shift gate makes it annoying putting the truck in reverse, and the sport shift mode is too slow changing gears after you have slapped it back or forward. The leather heated seats are a 10/10 though.

Favorite Features

The 5.7 liter V8 is a powerful, smooth, and torquey motor!

Suggested Improvements

Better interior materials, less nanny alarms and features. Change the shift-gate, and make the shifter knob human-sized.
