Review

Like everything about this truck except for one unfortunate issue. The six speed auto seems to randomly start vibrating as if going over a rumble strip. It feels like a torque converter issue. Picked up from dealer today after they evaluated it. They are going to replace the transmission which only has about 800 miles on it. What adds insult to injury is that they are replacing this with a rebuilt unit. I for one havent had real good luck with other rebuilt auto parts. Service said Toyota wouldnt let them order a new one. They had their crankshaft issue earlier this year now it appears the transmission may be an issue. This truck cost almost 50k!

Favorite Features

Styling, interior room.

Suggested Improvements

Quality control, and HEY TOYOTA when a transmission goes bad with less than 800 miles on it why insult the customer and replace it with a rebuilt that could have 30k or more on its components. Standard satellite radio.

Review

I feel super happy with my Tundra Limited 4wd 4 dr Crew cab 2007. Super quiet. Excellent suspension, very good movement, very strong when I need power, 381 hp is true. Fast acceleration. Excellent air conditioning. Excellent brake system. Interior fine and modern. Fuel economy is poor.

Favorite Features

My favorite is the 381 hp super 5.7 strong motor and super Belstein suspension very very quite (silencious).

Suggested Improvements

More fuel economy. needs original roof rack, needs 120 volt ac 2000 watts power inverter, cd changer more capacity. Security back camera best standard equipment.

Review

It looks and drives like a luxury truck but it really is a work truck. I can use it during the week to haul heavy loads or use it at a construction site and on the weekends, go to a wedding or nice outings all in the same truck. It's got power and class. The best vehicle I ever owned.

Favorite Features

I like the deep bed but my favorite feature is the tight turning radius. Tundra drives smooth and the interior is comfy. Full sized adults can sit comfortably in the back seats.

Suggested Improvements

The gas mileage could improve but compared to other full sized trucks just like it, it does great.

Review

As a tow vehicle the engine, with 401 ft. lbs. of torque coupled with a six speed transmission and 4.30 final drive ratio, is a lot closer to diesel performance than I had expected. The other surprise is general acceleration. Right off the showroom floor, typical stop light to stop light runs leave many "performance" cars struggling to keep up. The seats and seating position are very comfortable and except for the interior design of the dash, Toyota engineering has raised the bar for trucks in this class. So far it's been a win-win situation.

Favorite Features

The engine and drivetrain are the crown jewels for this vehicle, clearly outclassing anything in its field of 1/2 ton trucks. The general level of driver comfort is also a big plus at the end of a hard day.

Suggested Improvements

The exterior design of the bland truck sides could be a little more decisive in appearance. Bottom panels connecting wheel flares would help to segment the vertical sides and would emphasize the horizontal character of the truck.

Review

In my opinion, this is the best truck on the market. I have grown up with Ford trucks my whole life but because of recent problems, not anymore. About 2 months ago I wanted to take an 07 Tundra for a test drive and was sold. I love this truck! I say that everyday. I have a family of 5 and there is plenty of comfortable room for all of us. Also for such a big truck, with a lot of power the mpg was not bad at all (compared to other same size trucks). I intend on driving this truck for a long time and if it is anything like my parents' Toyota trucks, I will be. Also, this truck has more than enough towing power for my boat to and from the launch and also for the quads to the woods.

Favorite Features

I think this truck runs, idles and shifts really smooth with plenty of power. Even on the highway it drives very smooth with easy to use cruise control. I also love the way the front looks like a bulldog! Plenty of interior room with plenty of power.

Suggested Improvements

I have only owned it for 2 months and have had no problems. I would change the design of the instrument panel because while driving, it's a difficult glance. Also I wish a bedliner and floormats were a standard option on all of their trucks. The plastic door handles seem a little too plastic.

What a truck. After multiple GMCs and Fords, this thing really gives you a confidence. I liked my GMCs and Chevys, but the issues really started to show up at around 50-60k miles. I've owned numerous Toyota cars and love the reliability, ride and handling quality and reliability. The 5.7 engine is amazing. Absolute and instant power. The tranny is perfectly matched and smooth. Test drive one. You'll buy it.

Favorite Features

The engine and transmission. Second, the rear seats. They slide forward and recline.

Suggested Improvements

I bought an SR5. The radio controls are awkward without steering wheel control.

I love high quality cars. My Toyota Tundra is a high quality pickup truck. I'm very impressed about the power of this engine, as well as my driving experience, it is so smooth and comfortable. I owned a Ford F-150 before this one, but the Toyota is very far ahead in technology. I'm not tired anymore when I drive back from work. Driving with this truck is fun became my passion.

Favorite Features

Engine.

Suggested Improvements

The improvement of fuel economy would be great.

2007 Tundra, Double Cab 4.7L V8

Review

I test drove both the 5.7 V8 and the 4.7L V8 and decided on the 4.7L because I didn't need the towing capacity and wanted a truck that had more options for the price (instead of the the bigger engine). The 270hp/313lb-ft 4.7L is more than adequate for my commute and the occasional tow. Coupled with the 5 speed it is surprisingly nimble in traffic (I must compliment the 5.7L V8 though - the test drive ALMOST had it sold. That truck moves effortlessly.) The truck bed is huge and it's difficult to reach over the side to get anything (I'm 5'11"). The ride is comfortable, but the interior isn't as nice as the Silverado (as expected). Overall it's great - no buyer's remorse here!

Favorite Features

Auto stability control (which does work - I've used it!), 4 wheel disc brakes, 6 disc CD changer, JBL sound system with bluetooth for cell phones, tough looks, head turning styling, nimbleness for a full size truck.

Suggested Improvements

The back seat in the double cab is spacious, but some small layout changes would make it "feel" bigger. I wouldn't want to be back there on a 6+ hr trip.

This is my second Tundra and it is by far the best truck on the planet! Great job Toyota!

Favorite Features

Exterior design, interior comfort, reliability, fun to drive and most important the horsepower!!

Suggested Improvements

The radio control is a little far away, and give the passenger seat as many adjustments as the driver's power seat.

Review

If you wanna turn heads with the truck's sharp looks and impress passengers with its raw power, buy a tundra withthe 5.7L V8. This truck has ridiculous power but should really have a Lexus badge on it because the ride quality is second to none.

Favorite Features

381 HP, 6 speed transmission, very roomy, comfortable for the whole family to fit in. I love how the rear seats fold up, perfect for transporting a dog if you don't want hair all over everything!

Suggested Improvements

Make the power seat available on the 40/20/40 front bench seat, at least for the driver's side, also, make a bedliner and chrome exhaust tip standard.
