Toyota Tundra vs. Chevrolet Silverado

Re: Tundra in person [framer_rube]

Rube, my family have been working toyota trucks for over 15years. My parents only buy Japanese cars because they think American cars are crap. We just finished clearing an old olive orchard here in Oroville, CA for a new subdivision. We cut up the olive trees for firewood. My dad's '90 Toyota 4x4 v6 pickup with 205k hard working miles (original drivetrain) hauled ... Read More...

Re: BELIAS [belias]

Once again, you are ignorant of the facts. The only UAW members employed by Toyota are the ones at the GM-Toyota joint venture plant in Freemont, CA (NUMMI). The Flat Rock, MI plant owned by Mazda/Ford also has UAW members. Otherwise, NONE of the foreign owned plants have UAW members. Some of the best jobs in the US auto industry are not the UAW factory jobs, but the ... Read More...

Re: YEA YEA [geo9]

Those figures ARE from Edmunds spec. lists for 07s ! Easy to compare all 4 trucks from a "neutral" site. So no koolaid ! Son, the specs are clearly listed on Toyota's site. If they are different on Edmunds, Edmunds has made a mistake. Where do you think edmunds gets their numbers? Do you think they do independent testing or something? Get a clue. Are they still making ... Read More...

2007 Motor Trend Car and Truck

The 2007 Toyota Camry is the 2007 Motor Trend car of the year. I would be blown away if the Tundra wins 2007 Motor Trend Truck of the year. Is it possible for the same automaker to get two awards for 2 different products??? We'll see in December who wins motor trends truck of the year award. 2007 Truck of the year- ????????????? 2006 Truck of the year- Honda Ridgeline ... Read More...

Re: Don't all thank me at once! [bugchucker]

Toyota sold 120,000 Tundras in 2005 with the current generation Tundra. Their sales goal for '07MY is 200,000. I believe they will sell all of that as well. The base grade truck (the white one) is meant for fleet sales. You know, highway dept.s and contractors. It might not be the prettiest belle at the ball but it'll get the job done. Read More...

Re: New Transmission in 07 Tundra? [serranot]

Appreciate your honesty, concerning your lack of any first-hand experience with the Tundra. I suspect visitors to this forum like to know who is "qualified" to speak about Toyota trucks. Unlike you, I am an owner of two Toyota trucks. So I'll "bring you up to speed." We purchase Toyotas because of their reputation. We expect that they will take us 100,000+ miles. ... Read More...

Re: New Transmission in 07 Tundra? [usedtobeloyal]

I'm sorry, I have no personal experience owning a Tundra. I cannot personally comment on ownership. In any case, I did not think that Tundra ownership was a requirement to post on these boards. However, if you reread the post, I did not call you a liar or say that your comments were untrue. My comments had nothing to do with your ownership experience. I am entirely ... Read More...

Toyota Tundra: Problems & Solutions

Re: 2005 Tundra Transmission Problems [higdonc]

Same problem that I had. Be careful what the dealer tells you - my transmission quickly failed with the same problem, and Toyota didn't want to hear it. Had to replace it at a cost of $3500.00. EVERYONE (dealer, regional rep., and national) in Toyota said I owned the issue since I was over the 60,0000 mile warranty. So much for all the advertising about going 100,000 ... Read More...
