We were driving the car on a residential street, 30 miles per hour, and suddenly heard a noice. My husband immediately shifted the gear into neutral, pulled over and shut the truck off. I just bought a 2003 V-8 Tundra. The O2 thing is really scaring me. I'm in way over my head on this truck as it is. Don't need some chronic repair problem. Have also heard that many Tundra owner are experiencing brake problems. Anybody know if they have fixed any of these nasty and expensive little snafus for 2003, or is this something else I have to look forward to down ... Read More

The 2001 Tundra was limited to 45 MPH when towing more than 2,000 pounds (per the owners manual) - did Toyota upgrade the 2002/2003 model to get rid of this restriction? If the Tundra still has this limit get the F-250.

The '07 tenative release date as far as I know is for two things. First, Toyota wants to have a hybrid version of all of their products available by 2007. They are in the process of looking at sites for a new plant to build super-duty pickups which should be available sometime between 2005 and 2007. The "double-cab" version of the current Tundra, from what I understand should be available as ... Read More

Sorry that you had a bad experience. Wonder why the only six posts that you've ever made to this forum happen to all be the same message. Advise that you look at the upcoming full-size Honda or Nissan pickups that are to come out in mid- to late-2003. You could also look at Dodge since they seem to be getting their act together. I've gone the Ford and GM route and ... Read More

I've seen a picture of the step side version of the 2003 Toyota Tundra, but nothing of the double cab Tundra. Motortrend says Toyota plans to come out with the heavy duty crew cab in 2003, but Toyota isn't saying anything. A few sales people have told me the double cab will be a 2003 model. Does anyone know for sure?

I read in Motortrend magazine that the 2003 Toyota will build a Stepside version, which I've seen pictures of, but they also plan to build a heavy duty crew cab. A double cab similar to the Tacoma. I've spoken to several sales people who tell me it will be a 2003 model. Does anyone know whether it will be out in early or midyear?

I doubt seriously if there will be significant changes in the Tundra for the 2003 model year. More than likely it will be the 2004 year model that will likely be introduced early to mid 2003. I haven't heard or read anything about a 5.4L engine either. Toyota is building a new V8 engine plant in Huntsville, Alabama, but I don't believe it is up and running yet. There is talk ... You can now get a factory hitch on the 2001 limited. I think I have Toyota figured out: 2001 - Factory hitch 2002 - Locker option 2003 - give buyer a choice in rear differentials 2004 - offer choice of 2 V8 engines 2005 - Autotrac like option 2006 - redesign of truck includes a rear seat sized for humans By 2006 they will almost be caught up with the 1999 ...
