Toyota Tundra Owner Experiences

Re: toyota tundra vs. toyota tacoma [hammaa]

I think that year tacoma is part of the frame watch, where many of those yearly 2000's tundras are now failing inspections due to frame corrosion. You might be better off with the Tundra. As far as the "look", I think you would be sitting higher off the floor of that Tundra (remembering my pals '99 tacoma) so your pant legs might stay cleaner. Hope that helps! Read More...

Toyota not trying as hard to move vehicles?

Seems like all the auto makers would be taking a hit right now with the current economic climate, but I've had no luck with what Edmunds SAYS we should get for our trade-in as well as the "what others are paying" price. We gave up on trying to get another Honda Odyssey for what we "should" be able to get it for; the dealership just can't get within $2000 of the price they ... Read More...

Why won't they take my order for 5 units?

Toyota continues to amaze me. Unlike every other manufacturer, they insert a "distributor" between the dealer and the factory. This adds cost and hassle to the transaction. All the local dealer can sell is what the "distributor" orders from Toyota. In the Northeast the distributor pushes 4X4 trucks. Case in point: I'd like to buy 5 two wheel drive standard cab ... I bought one for Invoice -500 plus $5500 rebates

I picked up a new truck last night for $500 (before $5500 in rebates) under invoice. There are plenty of trucks out there still and you can probably do better still as every dealer I called said no problem to that discount, however they claim Toyota is trying to dry up the supply so they don't have to have such high rebates and can bring out their 2009. I had to get some ... Read More...

Latest incentives and Price for SR5,4x4,DBL, 5.litre

I am rushing to put together a deal before the Sept 2 incentives run out. I am looking for a SR5 Double Cab 4x4 Regular Bed. Not much added but I want tow mirrors and tow package (part of SR5 package?). There is $4,000 cash plus the business rebate which I don't see listed on the Toyota site. Is it $1500 or $2000 on top of the other rebates? Should this truck cost $24K or ... Read More...

Re: Is it a good deal? [rlary]

I bought before 5 years a used 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan for $2000, Blue book price was $5000. I got a deal because it had a high mileage (157,000). After 5 years the mileage is over 200000. I had no problems with the engine or the transmission. All of you know that the quality of the F-150 is much better than the Dodge Grand Caravan. Most owners of the new F150 (2005 and ... Re: the best tool for removing the O2 sensor [ppisano]

The O2 sensors are a chronic problem on 2000 to 2005 Tundras (don't know about 2006 & up). HOWEVER, I had two sensors replaced by the Toyota dealer on my 2000 Tundra IN WARRANTY. There is a 5-year warranty on those parts. Since you have a 2003, check to make sure you are out of warranty before doing the job yourself. Further, a third one went out on me about 3 months ago. ... Backed In fees(hidden fees) at Closing

Dealerships have found a new way to gouged the consumer. Instead, of adding markups on the car sticker price, they are advertising "dealer invoice" and marking the fees at closing when you are about to sign papers. It is the "nickle and dime" hidden line item pricing at closing: doc fees, admin fees, marketing fees, bank flooring interest, and gas. Before you ... Read More...
