2011 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab PreRunner V6 4dr Double Cab 5.0 ft. SB (4.0L 6cyl 5A)

Review

lots of power, rides nice, corners great, gets 18.8mpg city/hwy so far.

Favorite Features

truck sits as high as full-sized. very roomy. lots of leg-room for tall drivers. v6 provides top-notch performance.

Suggested Improvements

move the glasses holder to a different location. if left open, i will bump it with my head as i enter the truck which is very painful. offer leather seats. offer electric seats. get michelin tires instead of dunlops. driver's seat sits too high for me. also the hood scoop...get rid of it since it is not functional.

2011 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab PreRunner V6 4dr Double Cab 5.0 ft. SB (4.0L 6cyl 5A)

Review

Previously owned a Ford F150 with V-8. After 7 years, I made the decision to 'down size' to the Tacoma. The Ford was more comfortable and much easier to get in/out of. Additionally, (and somewhat incredibly) the Tacoma only delivers about 1.5 better MPG. However, the Tacoma is much easier to park in tight spaces and rides on a par with the larger F150. Brakes on the Tacoma are adequate in spite of feeling as though there is air in the brake line ('mushy'). Also, be aware, the brakes squeak/squeal & you will be told by Tacoma that this is "NORMAL" If you are down sizing, be willing to accept less vehicle in interior/exterior space, ride, and hauling capability with little MPG improvement.

Favorite Features

Good size for today's tight parking lots.

Suggested Improvements

Brakes, ingress/egress, seating position for easier entry/exit.

Review

Actually did not want to look at Toyota when looking to buy. Glad I did. I've owned all types. Needed to tow, haul passengers, and equip. I got all. Back seat has more room then any competitor. Tow's my boat and trailers with no problems. Ride is excellent with no short-bed bouncing. More than enough power with smooth shifts. MPG could be a little more in city driving. Getting 22+ mpg (not to bad though). Tie down rails in bed work great. Plenty of drink holders but center ones need to be bigger. Actually is very quiet ride.

Favorite Features

Engine power. Tow capacity Rear seat

Suggested Improvements

Make a 6 speed Auto/ Higher overdrive Larger center cup holders Put a light for the bed
