jmack: The first thing is to find out if the Toyota program for Tacoma frame rust program is still in effect. Back when I sold them my 1999 Tacoma - in Sept. 2008, they were qualifying rusted Tacomas under two circumstances: 1. Surface rust had to be, in their estimation, in excess of their "standards". At the time their standards were they didn't want very much surface rust on any Tacoma ... Read More

Apparently there is a major recall of multiple Toyota models regarding floor mats on the driver's side that can interfere with the accelerator and cause a crash. It includes the 2005-2010 Tacoma and 2007-2010 Toyota Tundra. Now ya know!

I don't know what an interior chip is but the '07 is the same as the '06 and '05. I can run 87, 89 or 93 in my 2005. The '07 is still going to "recommend" premium, as all Toyota V6 engines do. I do get noticeably better gas mileage and acceleration running 93. However it still ran fine (i.e. no knocking) on 87. Here is the list of changes from ... Read More
Hi, all - I was biking near Toyota of Rancho Santa Margarita today. Just for fun, I took a look at the big line-up of new 4-cyl. Tacoma Access Cabs there; then I saw something I hadn't seen before. I'd gotten accustomed to seeing mileage ratings of 20/27 for the manual, and 21/26 for the four-speed auto. This auto showed 21/27. Looking closer at the sticker, I saw that it was ... Read More
No a redesign isn't scheduled until 2010. Toyota Tacoma's were just redesigned last year. I think your thinking of the new Tundra's they come out early 2007.
When do Toyota Tacoma 2007s come out? Are any major changes scheduled from the 2006? When they do come out, do the 2006s drop in price a few grand? How does that all work? I'm looking to buy a crew cab 4x4 auto Taco this year.
I agree. The tacoma was at the top of my next car list, but I want side airbags and they are difficult to get on a tacoma 4 dr 4x4 in SoCal. The few trucks that have them are completely decked out and list at $32k. Too much for me for a toyota pickup. Maybe toyota will make them standard in 2007. Honda (and even nissan)seems to have its act together ... Read More
Also, why do you even mention the Ram is better than the 2007 Tundra? No one has even driven it. You're just bashing Toyota because it's Toyota. The Tundra has been proven to be much more reliable that the Big Three's trucks in Consumer Reports, I doubt the new one will be WORSE, as you imply. That is the reality of these forums. 99% of the people that bad-mouth models that ... Read More
Typically, when a model is redesigned, the following year gets nearly no changes other than corrections of TSBs, etc. Normally, only the packages/options change, sometimes to make the vehicle a better value (ie more standard options, or more powerful stereo, etc). If any big changes are coming, they'll be in the 2007 Taco to align with the new Tundra. If the rumors are true, the Tundra will probably end up with ... Read More
