Thanks Ron, I did go to a hitch place and they gave me a 4 wire harness to hook up to the back lights, and then a two wire harness for power and the brake. The trailer uses a 7 pin connector without using the middle pin. Toyota Tacoma 2006 Access Cab and 2WD 2.7 4 cyl. Looks and drives great and managed a great out the door price on it( 19,870 - that includes tax, title, license). I note the body does appear elevated with noticable large wheel well gap between body and standard size tires. I don't think the quality has changed for the worse in the last 40 years. What has changed is that we have an internet where we can go see someone that has a possible problem with their vehicle, and pretty soon everyone that has second thoughts about spending 20K+ on a vehicle also has that problem. Thanks for the info on the exhaust noise. I have a 2006 with engine tap (another posting said Toyo is coming out with fix for fuel bracket??) and it is also bottoming out on the rear (leaf springs crashing hard on the axle when going over a dip in a road) usually more noticable with 2 or more persons. I have bought four Toyotas in the last 13 years. I haven't negotiated back and forth on any of them. I went to dealers that were willing to offer a reasonable price at the first request. I get the price for the new vehicle established before discussing trade or financing. I keep those issues separate throughout the deal. I maintain the right to sell my trade myself ... Read More...

Mine is a 2006 4cyl with a terrible exhaust noise. I've been told by the Toyota executive office that the fuel line bracket is causing the noise and newly redesinged one will be available shortly. Read More...

Went to the dealer again today as my "exhaust noise" has significantly increased over the last month. The normal exhaust noise is no longer considered normal as the dealership has now informed me that Toyota has posted a bulliten and they will replace the manifolds to fix the problem.
