I just put a deposit down on a new Doublecab Tacoma, long bed, SR5, with security system, limited slip, alloy wheels, JBL stereo, bed mat, wheel locks, mats, V6, 4x4 for $27,800 plus tax and tags. I bought it at Valenti toyota in Westerly, RI. Any thoughts on the price. Thanks. Read More...

Mine has the same noise although it's a 4cyl model(2006)with 3500 miles on it. I hear the noise constantly as long as my foot is on the gas pedal. Toyota told me 3 months ago that a fuel-line bracket was causing the noise but never heard from them again as to when the newly designed one is available. I have the same problem. Took it to a dealer. They guessed it was the valve adjustment. Sounds to me lie an injector or the old style lifters. Toyota told me the engine doesn't have "lifters" in the traditional sense. Anyway, to make a long story short, they douldn't find anything out of Toyota specs. My local Toyota dealership quoted me 28,350 for a new Tacoma at what is supposed to be employee pricing. 2006 Tacoma factory 6 speaker set-up, not the JBL system. The standard poor quaility Toyota set-up. Can not believe the low end speakers, magnet is about the size of a coke bottle top. I just bought a 2006 toyota tacoma access cab 4x4 and have the same extact problem. I've put 150 miles on it and brought it to the dealership and they said i just had to break it in. I will call toyota asap. Hopefully they will come up w/ a fix. Read More...

I have a 2006 Tacoma 2.7 5sp access cab with 3000 miles. Since birth, the cold engine start is 3,000 to 3,200 RPM. Many trips to the dealer and there is no "fix" because of the "fly by wire" system.
