I have a 2006 Toyota V6 Tacoma SR5 4x4 Access Cab truck with 43,000 miles on it. The past 3 weeks I have been hearing an engine backfire at 40 to 55 MPH. You can feel the backfire through the floorboard. When it backfires it only does it once or three times in a row. The sticker for my 2006 had the year clearly in the top portion of the sheet. Perhaps in California the stickers differ as I've seen a few 2007 models which also had the year on the sticker. You failed to state one important thing (manual or auto transmisson). Also be aware some, (almost every truck I saw) had the floor mats listed on the sticker, so you might get stuck ... Read More...

I found that when buying cars from dealers that the used cars often were more expensive then the new cars. This could be due to factory incentives? So if you want used over new then I would suggest you not shop dealers and check your local newspaper, Ebay, etc. If you're in Cal email me and I can recommend a dealer who gave me no haggling prices on a 2006 4x4 Tacoma access ... I have a 2006 TRD Sport Dbl Cab 4x4. Most of my highway miles have been pulling a 3 seat watercraft plus all of the necessary gear. I get just over 17. When I am not pulling the trailer, the best I have ever seen is 19. That is going just over 70mph. I wish it was a little better but it isn't important enough to drive below the speed limit.
