2002 Toyota Tacoma 2dr Regular Cab 2WD SB (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
This truck has done everything I've asked of it- from towing over 4000 lbs to hauling engines to commuting to the hospital and back. An awesome truck all around, my next truck will be another Toyota (in about 15 years- at this rate this thing will last forever). It handled poorly on the stock tires in rain, but since I swapped them recently, it has improved greatly.
the new motor is a great little 4 cylinder- good power, great mileage, and durable as all heck. The exterior styling is cool, too.
A tape deck?!? Come on, this is the 21st century guys... make a CD standard for once and make everyone else follow. I don't know anyone that actually plays tapes in cars- it's a waste of your customers' money installing them
2002 Toyota Tacoma 4dr Double Cab V6 4WD SB (3.4L 6cyl 4A)
Now have 27699 on this truck I bought in July of 2002 The AC compressor quited down around 9k miles and works well. Developed the rattle in the dash around 7500 miles. Dealer fixed it on first try. Getting 19-21 around town with K&N air filter and ECT button off. Best on the road has been 24.3 MPG. Seats seem to be getting soft but still comfortable. Very happy with it and will consider the 2005 Taco or Tundra when I retire. Very satisfied with dealer and truck.....so far!!
Performance, and solid ride on backcountry roads. Handles well on highway.
Paint thin on rear panels and tail gate, as well as the bed. Do away with clock as ya can't see it anyway.
2002 Toyota Tacoma 2dr Xtracab 2WD SB (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Purchased a 2003 Toyota SR5 Ext Cab.auto,PS,Air, Cruise Control. very satisfied with performance of vehicle. All vehicles are not up to the standards of the durability ofToyota........However, is the vehicle worth the hassel of being wary of salesmen/admin pushing to get as much money as they can?
Clock on Truck, have to twist around steering wheel to see clock.
2002 Toyota Tacoma 4dr Double Cab PreRunner 2WD SB (2.7L 4cyl 4A)
So far so good! The quality on the Toyota product is top notch! Haven;t had one problem except that the clock is positioned in the wrong place and hard to see. The interior has held up very well especially with kids, animals and the frequent trip to the beach.
Reposition the clock, possible improved gas mileage and more reature comforts like outside temp readings, gas mileage indicator, etc...
2002 Toyota Tacoma 2dr Xtracab PreRunner 2WD SB (2.7L 4cyl 4A)
My main problem is being a large man, the passenger side room for the knees is poor. It is not comfortable to ride as a passenger, therefore i always drive long distances myself. The clock is hard to view from the driver's perspective. Otherwise, a great truck and no regrets on buying it except that I wish i would have waited one more year for the lower prices.
I like the multiple drink holders and the power accessory plugins
I would move the clock and put a power accessory in the back of the Xtracab. I would also offer a 3rd door at the minimum for ease of ingress and egress.
