Sienna SE is the best Minivan yet

2013 Toyota Sienna SE 8-Passenger 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 6A)
I recently purchased 2013 Sienna SE after
careful analysis with Sienna XLE and Honda Odyssey(EX-L and Touring). Below is my verdict on who wins in each category-
Exterior - Sienna SE
Tires/Wheels - Sienna SE
Tech - Odyssey
Features - Odyssey
Seating - Odyssey
Access to 3rd row - Sienna
Dashboard - Odyssey
Cargo Space - Sienna
Mileage - Odyssey
Price - Sienna
Drive - Sienna … SE
Steering/Handling - Sienna SE
Winner - Sienna SE by a margin
If looks and drive does matter to you, go with Sienna SE with Navigation pkg. If you want to opt for XLE, then Odyssey is a better choice.
Odyssey pick up is not so good.
Odyssey 2014 still looks bad when compared to Sienna.

2013 Toyota Sienna SE 8-Passenger 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 6A)
We’ve owned this van for almost 2 years now and in the time we’ve owned it we’ve had to repair the rear hatch motor and moon roof. Neither was cheap. The window seals have rotted, both fog light trim pieces have fallen off, the driver seat cushion is cracking badly, the paint on the roof is bleaching, the finish on the wheels is peeling off….Not the Toyota quality I was expecting. I … can’t speak to the drivetrain reliability as it only has 62,000 miles but if it’s anything like the quality of the rest of the vehicle then I’m nervous.
Update: We decided to trade the van in on an SUV. We purchased a 2017 Ford Expedition as I think I’m done with Toyota. I previously owned a 4-runner and an Echo and didn’t care for the 4-Runner because it was a cramped cabin and the fuel mileage was atrocious. The Echo was a nightmare and had engine code after code and had to sell it for a loss because the mechanics didn’t know what the problem was. I suspect it was the catalytic converter in hindsight. We won’t be purchasing any more Toyotas. We’ll let everyone else overpay for them.

2013 Toyota Sienna SE 8-Passenger 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 6A)
Been a solid van... love the drive but a few issues: brakes needed every 20-25k and new rotors every 40k..I went aftermarket and got power stop rotors and Akebono ceramic pads just hit 30k and need new pads but rotors seem fine...
Tires maybe 30k per set and these are expensive to replace at $1100 each time the tires that came with it lasted 23k and were completely bald
Front struts went … at 90k
Front lower control arms both went100k
Tie rods/ cv joints 100k
Both front door lock actuators went and dealer wanted $750 to replace I bought both for $100 and did it in an hour...
I drive in Los Angeles traffic so I know it isn't easy on cars but... this is also my second sienna I had a 2005 that had same issues with brakes and rotors and tires...
Reliable Van
