I got a 2011 Toyota Sienna SE and had an engine leak at 15,000 and they tried to fix it twice but did not. They just ordered me a new block.
I took my 2012 Sienna in for a fluid leak. To my surprise it was an oil leak coming from the top part of the engine. They decided to replace the block and the two cylinder heads due to oil leak between the head and the block. They reported that the leak may have been caused by potential damage during engine assembly. Has anybody else had problems with oil leaks like ... Read More
I've always stayed away from new model years, for example, the 2011 Toyota Sienna. My dad always said the engineers, line assembly need to work out the qwirks, etc. Less problems down the road. So I'm in the market, getting ready to buy a used Sienna. There is a glut of 2011s and a few 2012s that match my needs. I actually have to drive out of state to see the ... Read More

Below is my latest status update: Toyota not willing to help! Toyota is not standing by its customers and quality! I am a loyal customer with 3 Toyotas, most recently a 2012 Camry Hybrid in Sept 2012. My 2004 Toyota had a new ENGINE installed about 18 months ago (117,000 miles) because they said the engine had sludge in it due to lack of oil changes. This is NOT true, and in fact we started complaining about the engine smoking too much when it only had about 40,000 miles on it. A terrible engine from the start, it seems. We paid $5,000 to have a used engine installed, ... Read More
Thanks for the prompt response. When did you buy your Sienna? Is the $500 rebate for the 2013s' still in effect for October? I assume that there is currently no loyalty discount offered by Toyota to prior customers.
Congratulations !! Can you advise if the 26,700 price was after $1000 Toyota rebate or without rebate ? I bought the car at ~ 27, 700 and was wondering if this is due to rebate or is there really a $1000 price difference between IL and AR prices.

Sounds like you're getting emissions error codes, so yeah, they'll likely come back. The cat will start to clog up and choke the engine, so you may begin to lose power. You can keep driving it and ignore the lights, but eventually you'll need a new cat. The old ones clog up and look like this: http://catalyticconvertercleaner.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Catalytic-Conver- ter-Symptoms.jpg
Well there were other vehicles driving in the sub along with my wife. But because of the heavy rain none were going fast. It is unusual for vehicle manufacturers to source different brands of tires for a vehicle - except where different sizing is involved. However, Toyota seems to be the exception. They frequently multiple source tires. I suspect it is a fear of losing a supply of tires that match the specs.

Agree, 2012 availability (of trims, colors & options) will be unpredictable as I wait too long. Also I think any extra savings due to 2013 models may be in the 500 to 1k range. Little tradeoff between savings and immediate summer use/enjoyment of new car. Thanks.

Having never driven the 2nd Gen Sienna, I can only conclude it must be one of the best vehicles ever built.
