Bought (first hand) a 2001 Toyota Sienna XLE (v6). First couple of years were fine. Noticed around 2007-2008 that every trip that involves the highway will result in the oil to vanish as the Oil light will turn on. I ignored the issue at first as a mechanic indicated there was no leak. I simply put more oil and things were fine up to the next trip. I then noticed that ... Read More
The Lexus warranty was for my 2006 Lexus RX330, and I purchased it from a Michigan dealership in November 2009. It was the Platinum with zero deductible, 8 years/75,000 miles. paid about $1600. I will check my records for the name of the dealership. The Toyota warranty I just purchased for my 2012 Sienna was the Platinum with zero deductible for 8 years/100,000 miles, $990 from Molle Toyota in Missouri.
Good points. People want to buy Siennas, but the pricing is so high they are driven to used --- which has driven the USED prices sky high. I am quite sure you could sell your Sienna for what you say. I have seen used 2009 Siennas on dealer lots priced only $5000 less than a new model. What ever happened to the old saw that "it depreciates 30% the second you ... Read More

Carfax's +/- market is a joke. You will see some one owner vehicle has -$100.00 or 4 owners vehicle has +$200. There +/- market is all over the map. The worst I have seen was one "accident" "airbag deployed" car has a +. Go figure. My rule for a used car is like this: take 50% off from orginial price (NEW) for every 5 years. You can always turn off the ignition at a long traffic light. heh...I had a flash-forward of what my wife would say..."You're doing what?!" But that is what some vehicles do (especially in Europe)...not sure how the AC cutting off would be handled in the summer heat of TX. You can always turn off the ignition at a long traffic light. Or plan your route so you have more right turns than left, avoiding even more lights. I'm no hyper-miler, but I am practical when it comes to stuff like that. EPA revised and lowered the numbers. Those are correct today but IIRC it was 19/26 on the Monroney. It's easy to beat the new EPA numbers.
I own a 2006 Dodge Caravan SE (4 cyl). I have got as high as 32 mpg on the highway (60 mph and flat highway). Combined city/highway is around 24 mpg.
Maybe you've gotten lucky :) Your EPA shows 17/24 If you sit idling you're getting 0 mpg (suppose I'm stating the obvious)...so I can see getting in the teens if you're idling waiting for kids, fast food, prescription, atm, etc... Not to say something isn't wrong with the Van...could be.
Something is wrong - I have never had a full tank average less than 20mpg, not once. Even in winter, in-town driving. 2007 Sienna FWD 3.5l V6. Have your previous cars done OK relative to what other were getting?
Overall mpg? I never see over 20mpg in combined driving (05 Quest SE). The only time my average is over 20mpg is when there is a lengthly highway trip. We have too many short trips where you 'gun' it to highway speed only for a couple miles; as well as too much time sitting idling. If I were to guess what the 'trip-mpg' reads right now it would probably show16mpg or ... Read More

at least Korean cars have 10yrs warranty The powertrain warranty would not cover the door cable. A 2004 Kia's B2B warranty would have expired in 2008 or 2009, depending upon when you bought it. You may want to consider an extended warranty, just make sure it covers your door.

He located the car, but the car he located had mats, emergancy kit cargo net, came out to 340 extra. I walked away from the deal as he would not budge a penny lower. The bill ... Read More

I was offered $25,161.00 out the door at Fitz mall for 2009 LE, 7 or 8 seater, EVP#2, Alloy, carpet and Daylight running. This is self financing. Your price is too much. Also, extended platinum 7/75K warranty for $540.00 at Molle Toyota.
Isn't big screens in the back fantastic! Now let me ask you something... are you quoting your model or the current model? Correct me if I am wrong but don't you have an 06 from the previous design? Maybe I am wrong but I thought I remember you mentioning this. I hear ya on the lateral grip, and 0 - 60 times. But I can pass on that for saving over ... Read More

I just purchased a 2009 Odyssey EX. I was very close to getting a Sienna LE when I took a close look at interior seating space. The Odyssey definitely has more leg room in the 2nd and third row for passengers. Also a bit more head room in the third row seat. Since I have three full sized teenagers, this was the deciding factor. The rear cargo area also seems to ... Read More
I appreciated the info I was able to gather from this forum while shopping for a 2009 Sienna LE 8 passenger, so I thought I would share how we fared. We are in southern Indiana. We were seeking the above model with EVP #2 and daytime running lights (RL). We have purchased it for $26,165 OTD (approx $24,200 without TTL). We only have one Toyota dealer who is local, but I ... I bought a 2009 Sienna LE, from Toyota of Orange, Orange, CA, in December of 2008 for OTD $26,500. This includes Pkg 1. I got White with Gray interior, 8 passenger seating. I truly dont think there is the Beige interior available, though it should theoretically be available, because I really wanted White, and wanted to compare Beige and Gray inside, went to 3 dealers but none had Beige. So gray ... Read More
I'm from VA so the sales tax is 3% so if you are from MD or other states where sales tax is higher than so out the door would be higher. Correction--- Dealer is Darcars in Baltimore. I can get the same car from Miller Toyota in Manassas, VA for $26,900 out the door. Joe
Joe, who posted in previous posts that he got a LE 8 passenger with EVP3 for 27.1k out the door (if he did the financing), well, i just wonder how recent a deal this was (Castle toyota doesn't even exist anymore). I've talked with every dealer in the mid-atlantic area that has this vehicle and nobody can come within even 1k of this deal. So here you go people, thrive off ... Read More
The dealer's cost on the Sienna had little to do with the cost of a Honda Odyssey, and more to do with what they pay Toyota for a Sienna. They compete on pricing with other Toyota dealers. To answer your question, I do think your offer is too much of a low-ball. These pricing services are pretty consistent and while I think you probably can beat it, it would be by ... Read More
IF Toyota dealers weren't too greedy, they should accept an offer of $ 28,500 based on comparable price of $ 28,125 Honda dealers are asking for a comparable 2009 Odyssey EX-L.
Carbuy3, The toyota pricing was given me in person at Jone junction in blair. At that time i only stopped into see what type of pricing i would get. During my visit i did not confirm is this was with financing, it is not than i would not buy. I am still waiting for the dealer to call me back to confirm that this price is with 1.9%. if it isnt, ... Read More
Vans that are made in Indiana (where 4500 people are employed by Toyota alone) with parts made in the US by American workers with suppliers in the Midwest. Lots of suppliers in Kentucky if you drive along I64 from Louisville to Lexington- they generally feed the Georgetown plant. Do Toyota Sienna buyers know that by buying a foreign vehicle, they contribute to the trade deficit? The trade deficit adds to the federal bludget deficit, since the difference between what we import from Japan (a lot) and export to Japan (very little), is finance by selling treasury bills. We pay $Billions to Japan in debt service. Thanks for adding to my tax bill, and thanks for helping make the U.S. ... Read More
Just got a quote for a 2009 Toyota Sienna XLE with package #3, with alloy wheels, out the door price of $29,600. Tax in Atlanta 7%. The dealer states that he is loosing money on the deal, which I find highly unlikely. Does this sound like a good price?
You can NOT buy a Sienna LE equipped as a Chrysler T&C LX because THE most important comfort feature "Separately controlled temperature for driver and front passenger" is NOT an option on the Sienna LE. Toyota is too greedy to offer this option on the CE or LE. In fairness, my 2006 Sienna LE has a more comfortable driver's seat, more attractive front door panels, nicer cloth seats, more power (with ... Read More
