Honda Odyssey vs. Toyota Sienna

Re: Odyssey vs. Sienna - Help! [jsseinfeld]

I also like the overhead controls (temp, compass) on the LE EVP#2 That's the trip computer I was mentioning, I love it too, especially the fuel economy read outs. 2 of our 3 vehicles have that and I miss it when I'm driving the 3rd one. You may not have noticed but you also have power 3rd row window vents (switch by your left knee), another bonus on the Sienna. I'm not ... Read More...

Re: Odyssey vs. Sienna - Help! [toyojunk]

In the "2008 Minivans" thread, 2 years ago or so, he said it himself: I agree that the Odyssey is the MOST expensive and the Sienna has the MOST power at the lowest price That's a direct quote, straight from the horse's mouth. You can't spin that, no way no how. He even put it in CAPS, feeling the need to shout it. Sure an LE lacks dual climate control, but an XLE doesn't. ... Read More...

Toyota Sienna Brakes

Mr.

I have new purchased Sienna XLE on 7/2007, 14,000miles on it, my wife drives it as house wife car. At last week regular service at Toyota dealer, it was found that needs to change front and rear brake pad and rotor, front 3mm and rear 1mm left. This is my fourth new Toyota cars, and I never hear such thing before. My questions are how often this early brake problems happen ... Read More...

Toyota Sienna Tires/Wheels/Run-flats

Re: RFT an expensive problem [ncm]

Can you tell me where you are located and who you spoke to at Toyota (and their number). I have the same problem. All 4 tires on my 2007 Sienna CLE Limited are shot- worn out at 26,000 miles. Thanks. Read More...

Toyota Sienna Extended Warranty & Service Offers

Pricing extended warranty on used Sienna

I am looking to buy a used 2007 Sienna van with 30k miles from a private party. It also comes with Toyota's transferable 7yr/100k Platinum warranty. How much should I offer for the warranty above the fair price for the van? The owner wants $2k, which I feel is quite high. Thanks! Read More...

Toyota Sienna Tires/Wheels/Run-flats

RFT an expensive problem

My 2007 Sienna XLE AWD's run flat tires are all shot at 22,000 miles. I have been offered 2 replacements by Toyota and $100 form the dealer. This takes me down to $345. All this good will after many phone conversations and many unsurprised service people. Did I mention the brow beating from the Toyota Corp. representative. He sarcastically told me how lucky I was ... Read More...

Run-flat, self-sealing, PAX tires for Minivans

Re: 2007 Sienna, can I replace 2 tires? [rareair]

With AWD it may not be good idea to replace only 2 tires. Check manual what Toyota says about maximum circumference difference. For example Subaru advises that all tires should be within .25" with each other's circimference. You can go Go Flat tires but are you ready to handle flat tire situation without spare. Do you plan to buy spare tire along with regular tires. ... Read More...

Honda Odyssey vs. Toyota Sienna

Re: Opinions [bwires]

The Odyssey is quicker... It's not, at least not in acceleration. Handling-wise the Odyssey does better than the Toyota (simply because the Toyota is tuned to ride softer, which it does). The Odyssey has a more aggressive throttle tip-in, but the Toyota has a lot more juice under the hood. Everything I read about the 3.5L 2GR engine in Toyotas say that it seems ... Read More...

Toyota Sienna Prices Paid and Buying Experience

I want to trade my Odyssey for a Sienna!

I have had a 2007 Odyssey for 2 years and wish I had bought a Sienna! A couple months after I bought it the breaks felt like there was air in the break lines. I finally took it in (I procrastinate because I hate dealing with service departments). They said they could not replicate the problem. I took it back the next day with fresh blueberry muffins and right away they ... Read More...

Toyota Sienna Engine Problems

Re: Engine Noise in Cold Weather [rob105]

I have a 2007 Sienna with 49,000 Km, and have the same problem. Dealer said that the noise is due to a variable valve gear bolt being too close to the front engine cover and had agreed to replace the bolt with a updated one. Apparently, Toyota issued a TSB on this issue. My van is still at the dealership undergoing repair. Will let you know how the repair worked out. Read More...
