In March, I test-drove 3 different minivans on the same day over the same roads. I have a Toyota Sienna 2007 with 19K miles. The engine seems much louder from when I first bouhgt the car. When it start from a cold start I can hear a clicking sound till the engine warms up. The dealer has told me this is normal and it is the fuel injectors. Once the car warms up I don't hear it as bad. Has any one else experienced this? Thanks. Read More...

This has to be in the record book. I purchased a brand new XLE on 2/24/2008 only 3 miles on the ODO. This morning after I dropped off my kids at daycare, all of the sudden I can't even start the engine any more (battery is fine). The ODO reading is 53 miles. Had it towed to a local Toyota dealer for warranty repair. Still waiting for the answers from the dealer. Does anyone ... Read More...

I have spent the last week test driving different vehicles to determine which will fit our needs. (We have 4 kids, west-central IN, unplowed roads...) I drove both the AWD and FWD Sienna, GMC Acadia, Toyota Sequoia, Honda Odyssey and a 2007 Buick Terraza. I think I have narrowed it down to the Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sequoia. Most Sienna owners have NOT owned a Chrysler T&C before buying a more expensive, less satisfactory Toyota Sienna. (FWIW, I did NOT like the white faced instrument cluster of the T&C but it did not have the glare that is caused by the shiny circles around each instrument in the Sienna instrument cluster.) The 2004 through 2007 Toyota Sienna Door Check Mounting Panel Warranty Enhancement is for ONLY 5 years or 100,000 miles....NOT 7 years or 100,000 miles Hmmm, what is your source? I think you could be wrong after all. My 2007 was not covered by that warranty extension, come to think of it. I wish it had been. Why not get a free warranty? I think you really need to know how your going to use your minivan before choosing what to buy. Do you ever carry up to eight people? Honda would be a goood choice here. Will it just be used primarily as a people mover? Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, or most any of the others would fill the bill quite nicely. How long you want to keep it is another factor. You are WRONG concerning DEFECTIVE Sienna Front Door problem warranty. The 2004 through 2007 Toyota Sienna Door Check Mounting Panel Warranty Enhancement is for ONLY 5 years or 100,000 miles....NOT 7 years or 100,000 miles. This is stated in the Warranty Enhancement document we received for our 2006 Sienna on December 31, 2007. A mere 2 year extension on this ... Read More...

If you check CR, you'll see they've withdrawn recommendations of Toyota products due to the problems you cited which they've seen documented in their surveys.
