Re: 2008 Toyota Sienna LE [72heaven]
My 2007 didn't have that smell. Maybe some fluids were spilled on your exhaust manifold? Before start up, try turning the key to the On position, and give the fuel pump a second or two to prime fuel pressure. Then move on to the Start position. Read More...
Re: Fuel Economy 2006 Sienna LE vs 2007 Sienna LE [hansienna]
You state that as though there was something wrong with the Toyota when that is true for all vehicles.. The optimum economy is between 40 and 50mph for most vehicles, below that speed the friction between mechanical components dominates, and above that speed wind resistance dominates and rises to the square of the speed. That is simple physics and nothing peculiar ... Read More...
Re: Fuel Economy 2006 Sienna LE vs 2007 Sienna LE [yatesjo]
IF you drive FASTER, your 2007 Sienna gas mileage will drop rapidly (according to a graph in the mailing Toyota sent me). Quote: " Gas mileage decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph...." Read More...

Re: ERRORS and comments for the well written "Big 3 Comparison" [mfletou1]
Honda is definitely dealing more right now. Like I said before, in May of 2007, the opposite was true. I'm not sure why that changed. Toyota's prices have been fairly consistent, actually. A new 2008 with the equipment I have costs about the same amount today. It's Honda that has brought prices down. Dramatically. About $2 grand on the EX I was shopping back then. ... Read More...
Re: Fuel Economy 2006 Sienna LE vs 2007 Sienna LE [hansienna]
This is the wonderful thing about statistics. With one data point at each condition you can not conclude much since you cannot know how much uncontrolled variables skew the data. However as more data points are added there is what is called "regression to the mean", which in simple terms means that while one or a few points may have significant error in representing ... Re: Odyssey models vs Sienna models? [hansienna]
Toyota's option system is more a-la-carte. It's not as simple as CE=LX, LE=EX, XLE=EX-L, and LTD=Touring. We only wish. It's not like that at all, though. It's hard for the consumer to compare. :( Yes, the CE windows are not tinted, but what if someone wants windows that are not tinted? Maybe they have poor night vision. Toyota gives you the choice, and that's not ... Read More...
Re: Fuel Economy 2006 Sienna LE vs 2007 Sienna LE
AGREE 100% "You can't compare those for a simple reason - different drivers!" . That is EXACTLY why the data in posting # 162 and the link included has no merit. You get better gas mileage with your 2007 than I do with my 2006 BUT I get better gas mileage than my friend does with his 2007. Different drivers = different gas mileage. Since the carefully controlled EPA ... Read More...

Re: Honda? NO WAY. Same for Toyota [dvsutton]
Sure, you just happen to have a son and neighbor to have serious problems with their Toyota's and your Chrysler is really better than a Odyssey and Sienna??? lol Wow, we had a T&C it was garbage and my aunts 99 sits in her driveway collecting dust..lol I just took another look at the new T&C and test drove it and it is still cheap garbage ;) Oh my local dealer still has ... New 2007 Toyota Sienna needs transmission
Steve
I own a 2007 Toyota Limited with 8250 miles. I have had it in to my selling dealer 3 times for the transmission. I'm sorry, but when I slow down to turn, go over a speed bump or otherwise make some change in speed, the transmission shouldn't be "searching" for a gear when I re-accelerate. The last trip to the dealer was after a complaint to Toyota and them setting up the ... Read More...

Real World Odyssey MPG
I own a 2006 Odyssey EX-L with about 42,000 miles. I have consistently averaged 20 mpg in mixed city driving and 26 highway. The VCM deactivates above 80 mph. I found this out on a road trip to New Mexico. Interstate 10's speed limit is 80 west of Kerrville, TX. I cranked up the van's speed to about 82 and noticed the ECO light stayed dark and my MPG dropped off to about ... Read More...
