Re: Toyota Sienna [kbella3]

hause7 beat me to it, but I was going to suggest a 2007 for the same reason - no belt to change, more HP on the 2007 and later. Just took ours to Florida and back (I'm in the DC area) and it was a great utility vehicle, carrying people and luggage all over the place. Our group had 17 people! The funny thing is all the kids wanted to come with me in the van because I had the 12" ... Read More...

Re: Toyota Sienna [jpf]

It only affected the 3.0L V6 on the 1998-2003 Sienna's plus it only occured to a few owners not everyone. The 2004-2006 use the 3.3L V6 and the 2007-present use a 3.5L V6. We had a trouble free 04 Sienna Limited AWD that we traded in with 90,000 miles for our now 07 Sienna XLE FWD because we didn't need the AWD here in California. If you are gonna buy a Sienna an 05-newer ... Read More...

Toyota Sienna Future Models

Re: Hopes for the next Sienna... [samnoe]

I agree the Sienna needs lighting in the glovebox and better lighting in the cargo area but overall it's pretty bright. You can get bluetooth on any model with the JBL system which means it's now available on the LE. The 2007 and newer Sienna's do have Tip Start, just turn the key let go and it starts the rest itself. Our 04 Sienna didn't have it but our 07 Sienna does ... Read More...

Re: Timming belt in the Toyota sienna [Malta1]

Belt up until model year 2006. Chain from 2007 onward. Not sure of the interval because I have an 07 with a chain. Read More...

Honda Odyssey vs. Toyota Sienna

Re: Test driving a new 2008 Odyssey EX-L & 2009 Sienna LE [lab88]

When I read your post I had to agree. We traded our 2004 Sienna Limited AWD in for a 2007 Sienna XLE FWD. We noticed the handling was a lot more responsive and better then our 04. We feel it handles just as good as an Odyssey and when we change the tires it should handle even better. Both are good vans. I mean were talking about a Honda and a Toyota. We just loved our 04 Sienna ... Read More...

Toyota Sienna Gas Mileage

Re: 11 MPG for 2008 Sienna XLE AWD [trademarkguru]

Welcome to the forum. I am fairly new to the forum as well but I came here for the same reason:lousy mileage on our 2004 AWD XLE Limited. I bought the car used with 75000 miles on it and have never cracked the 18 MPG mark, even with all highway driving. Overall average is 15.2 mpg 50/50 city-highway. Overall, the AWD models consistently seem to get mileage that is 25-35% ... Read More...

Dangerous New Toyota Sienna!

Help with Disabled driver and Bluetooth

A guy I know who is in a wheelchair asked me a question about Bluetooth. He is getting a Toyota Sienna which is outfitted with a ramp and driving gear since he is in a wheelchair and has only partial use of his arms and no use of his legs. The Bluetooth in the Sienna is (I think) like that on my 2007 RAV4: not entirely hands free. You have to hit the “off hook” switch to answer ... Read More...

Honda Odyssey vs. Toyota Sienna

Re: Which one to purchase used? GET the Odyssey

IF you want comfortable seats for EVERYONE in the minivan, get the Odyssey. The Odyssey EX also has separately controlled temperature for the driver and front passenger whereas the fine folks at Toyota think one temperature is fine for people do not want to pay at least $ 34,000 for a minivan. The Odyssey also outperformed the Sienna until Toyota put the 3.5L in ... Read More...

Re: Which one to purchase used? [hause7]

Having driven the Toyota and the Honda (both 05s, actually), the Honda had significantly more feel and feedback in the steering. It was as different as the current Camry LE and Accord EX. That's a big difference, to me. Maybe it pulls the same raw numbers, but it wasn't nearly as confidence inspiring as the Honda Odyssey. EDIT: Car and Driver had this to say about ... Read More...
