I have a 1998 Toyota Sienna van also and when I turn left the map lights come on, the panel shows door ajar (LED) and if the doors were locked, they become unlocked (click noise). Once you straighten wheel and go straight all becomes normal and map lights turn off, etc. This NEVER happens when turning RIGHT. Any ideas ... Read More

    I need your advise. I have a 1998 Sienna with 235,000 miles and it has been very good car for us. There is a 2.5 inch long crack at the top of radiator and I was wondering whether to repair it or replace it. I certainly do not want to spend $479. Some one offer me $150 for new radiator ,and $60 for labor to install. What should I do?

    It depends on your dash setup. If you stick your head where the brake pedal is and look up, you may see a box looking thing that is small, but since my discription is bad, heres what you should do. Buy a haynes manual for the 1998-2002 Siennas. The info is in there and it is good to have in any repair situation. Make sure you get one

    I heard about the extended warranty on the tranmission from Toyota Motor Sales USA. They sent me a direct mailing with my name and VIN. It is titled "1998 through Early 2000 Model Year Sienna Automatic Transaxle Warranty Enhancement notice." Its for 8 yrs/100,000 miles. It refers to a "no movement" or slipping problem in the transaxle.
