2011 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4dr SUV 4WD (5.7L 8cyl 6A)
Our purpose was to have towing capability of 7000lbs easily and have an interior (eliminating trucks).
All SUV's in this category have great front seats and comprable 2nd rows but the 3rd row was the best by far.
Around town, gas mileage can be all over the map.
Driving without trying to be efficient - expect 13 mpg / but if you try hard and learn - 16 - 17 is possible.
Remember there is substantial push after getting off the gas.
Speed is the key to mpg with something of this size.
For 2011, getting in and out of 4WD occurs below 45mph - resolved in later models.
Comfort - like the width.
Carries a higher price but the SR5 transmission is the same as the platinum which is wasn't the case for some others.
Engine can be run excitingly or efficiently.
Lots of torque to keep it going.
Good heat and A/C.
The trifold 2nd row is great for 4 people and a bunch of 2x4's.
Great vision - may not quite the NSX of the SUV world but good.
Use a timer on the interior lights so as not to drain the battery.
There is a slight slant toward the back with the 3rd row down - would have preferred flat.
No info on changing oil - has a paper filter which is new to me.
For the seatbacks - spend $0.10 more for a plastic bar running between the headrest posts - why? - carseats upper straps could pull on that bar and not on the seat material.
Develop Monitors in the Headrest.
Although it would be nice to entertain kids in the rear seat, it can be like being in a box.
If not installed pre-route the wires.
Even if backup cameras do not become standard equipment, at least run the wires so that an install is just a camera and a monitor.
