Can't go wrong with this SUV. Built on the Tundra platform, but rides like a car with the power of a truck!

Favorite Features

8 passenger capacity plus extra room for storage in the back and on the roof.

Suggested Improvements

None.

Absolutely love this rig. Have had it for 2 years now and can't complain about anything. Super reliable. Zero down time. Great towning vehicle. Beautiful inside and out. Easy to operate. Nav is a life saver. Grandkids love the DVD. Just wish it got a little better gas mileage, but it's a nice trade off I guess. Handles super and rides great. Ordered ours fully loaded with most everything. You won't be sorry. Thousands less than Lexus but same quality.

Favorite Features

Looks, handling, features. Towing abiity. Steering wheel controls for radio. Sound system. No maintenance.

Suggested Improvements

Sat. radio, dual temp controls, power rear gate, and would be nice to have rear window control to roll up automatically as well as down with keys control.

Review

All SUVs are overpriced in my book, but if you need the size its a good purchase. Has good power. Not as much cargo room as one would expect. Rather noisy. I am average build and I feel like a midget trying to reach for everything. Person who decided where the heated seats button was placed should be shot. Solid feeling, makes one feel very safe. Well put together. Mileage is awful in general, but good in its class. "Toyota Quality" is overrated as I've had a rather long list of things that have had to be repaired (under warranty of course) like rear window, tire pressure gauge and rear wiper.

Favorite Features

Powerful engine, rather nimble for such a large vehicle. Seats 7 rather comfortably on moderate trips. Sooo many cup holders.

Suggested Improvements

Better placement of buttons inside the cabin. Better job of blocking out outside noise. Automatic folding 3rd row.

Review

I really enjoy driving this vehicle. It handles nicely and has ample cargo room. Back seats fold up easily for addl cargo room. Gas mileage is poor, but I expected that when I bought it. Great car for 3 kids who can climb in the back and buckle themselves in. Comfort is so so. We also own a Chevy Suburban and take that on road trips due to more comfortable seats and additional leg room. Placement of DVD player is poor - located inside storage compartment between front driver and passenger seats. Must pull over to put in new movie if alone in front seat. Placement of seat warmer switches poor. They get turned on accidently all the time. Dash controls are designed well.

Favorite Features

Navigation system, seat warmers, power seats, power moonroof, love the exterior design, handles well on turns, excellent control when braking quickly.

Suggested Improvements

Change switch location for seat warmers - they get turned on accidently quite often, dvd player location is not driver friendly. Make front seats roomier and more comfortable and increase leg room for driver.

I ended up pulling out two full-size trucks and a lincoln navigator out that were stuck in the snow. I am very impressed with its offroad capability. The differential lock is a great feature and it makes it almost impossible to stop. Awesome vehicle! Very glad I bought it!

Got rid of a Trailblazer. Picked the Sequoia for Toyota reliability. Almost immediately observed a problem with oil pressure. Dealer had no clue ("never seen that before"). Went to arbitration, corporate ultimately claimed - ready for this?- "they all do that." Aside from hoping the engine doesn't seize, it's a nice driving vehicle, well suited to its purpose. I want to get rid of it, though. Toyotas are good if you get a good one. If you get a bad one, be advised you're on your own.

Favorite Features

Roomy, good visibility, tourque, safety. Beats a minivan.

Suggested Improvements

Tailgate is awkward and heavy. Heavy is good, but it needs better assist. Toyota's attitude that they never build a bad vehicle.

Review

The Sequoia is a beautiful SUV. We replaced a Suburban with it but unfortunately have been disappointed. The ride is not only rougher but the road noise is much louder. We replaced the factory tires hoping to reduce the road noise but that didn't help. The gas mileage is lower than advertised being consistently 13.6 MPG combined city/highway (about 17 - 18 MPG highway). Also, its braking distance seems longer. There were several little problems for the first six months. This is our first Toyota and I have not seen a big difference in quality or performance.

Favorite Features

The interior is nice and it has plenty of cup holders. The JBL sound system is good. The sun roof is water tight and it is quite.

Suggested Improvements

The seat portion of the front seats are too short for my legs. It stops about mid-thigh. It would be more comfortable if it extended a few more inches. Deaden the road noise.

Review

I prefer to wait a while before I offer my opinion so this should help used car buyers. The Sequoia is an excellent vehicle. Don't buy this truck if you're looking for a lot of gizmos. It's pretty plain jane compared to the competition. However, if you're looking for a very smooth ride and the satisfaction of knowing this SUV will last forever then buy one. This is a classic Toyota... great ride, quality, reliability and timeless styling. Just a couple of negatives mentioned below. I won't complain about gas mileage. I still don't understand people who buy a V8 SUV and do???

Favorite Features

Very smooth ride, good power and smooth transmission, almost flawless reliability (side mirror developed a rattle and was replaced), tons of room (8 adult/children comfortable), classic styling (looks like it will age gracefully--think Jeep Wagoneer), resale value.

Suggested Improvements

The JBL system is overrated... just doesn't sound very good, third row seat design is outdated, audio controls on the steering wheel should be standard (we were smart enough to special order it on our SR5), low pressure light for the tires is touchy (changes in temp will affect it every time).

My wife loves this car; everything from the comfort to the design, the power on acceleration, handling, the sound system, the silence when the widows are up, cargo space, the navigation system, back up camera, satellite radio and the DVD player.

Favorite Features

Memory for the seat and mirror adjustments.

Suggested Improvements

Emergency brake should automatically disengage when shifting out of park.

Comfort, and handling are excellent. The clock and climate control instruments are hard to read as they is low and to the side. The car also vibrates at a harmonic frequency when you drive with the rear windows down.

Favorite Features

Seat heaters, electric folding mirrors, leather and DC converter.

Suggested Improvements

Better gas mileage is absolutely critical!
