Note about the Dealer incentive. It DOES exist (at least in the central Atlantic region) but you aren't supposed to know about it. I just ordered an 05 Sequoia and I was using that incentive as part of my negotiation. I called 1-800-GO-TOYOTA on 12/17/2004 and they confirmed it existed, along with 750 cash to customer. My dealer called the same number on 12/21 right in front of me and it ... Read More
Edmunds is showing $750 in Marketing Support for 2005 Sequoias. Unfortunately, this is not the case according to Toyota dealers and CarsDirect. Where did Edmunds get their info??? TDA = Toyota Dealer Advertising (fee).
Kouser,.. was that 37500 drive out price? i am getting quotes here in dallas for loaded up 2005, RWD, SR5's for 36,500 w/o TTL... Edmunds and carpoint (www.msnautos.com) price out the invoice on these closer to 35,000.. I know Toyota shows you the invoice, but that includes a 2% dealer hold back, in which the manufacture gives back to the dealers quarterly.. it's about $850 bucks that the dealer gets ... Read More
$400 over Invoice That was the best I could do for a 2005 4wd SR5 in California. I got 1 of only 2 white SR5 4wd in the state at the time of purchase. The selling dealership didnt even have the vehicle listed on inventory in an effort to hide it from other dealerships. I found it by sneaking onto thier satellite storage lot one morning! Edmunds was wrong about ... Read More
The Nissan Armada ? I truly do not know much about this truck except to say that as a former Nissan car owner, I'd expect the engine and chassis to be a good one while the build may not be up to Toyota level... OTOH, GM and Toyota has more years building full-size trucks than Nissan, so take that for whatever it is .... Overall, I'd say that the Armada is ... Read More
Just my thoughts on your questions: 1) Should we extend our lease for a year on the Yukon and wait for the new design on the '06 Toyota? I'm disappointed because I really thought both the Sequoia and Yukon would have come out with the fold-flat 3rd row seats by this time. The new redesign for the Sequoia won't be here until the MY'07 release, since the '05 represent a small ... Read More
I actually have several questions here. My lease on a 2002 Yukon will be up in January and I need to replace it with an '05 Yukon or Sequoia. We've loved the Yukon and it's given us no trouble in the first 30,000 miles. We're thinking of buying this time around and would rather own a Toyota than American-made (good past ownership experiences with Toyota/Acura cars). So here are the questions: ... Read More
Was at the dealership this past weekend and found some time to check out the 2005 Sequoia. After giving it a good look over, I must say I was NOT impressed with the so-called subtle changes to the front grill and the rear. Geez !!! The car has lost some of its muscle in this new look. What's that grill supposed to be for ? And that bulbous rear taillights ??? ... Read More
I agree that it's very odd of Toyota not to put a backup camera in one of the largest consumer vehicles on the road.
It's probably gonna be called the VX550 since toyota, from what I've heard, would currently be working on a new, powerful V8 engine to put in its next GX, VX, 4Runner, Sequoia and Tundra. But I think GXs, 4runners and Tacomas (if it gets a V8) will keep the 4.7, because they're smaller and lighter. It is sure that it's gonna be at least a 5.5 liter because of Nissan and ... Read More
factory web site. No mention of Torsen Transfer case or premium fuel requirement. MPG is up by 1 MPG city and hwy for the 4wd version.
Some folks on this site have secured some pretty good deals, some bordering what you are asking for. Your deal may be possible with some help from factory to dealer incentives, etc., so you may want to check this site to see if any are available for the Sequoia. I donít any have been offered since they incentized the moving of the last of the 2003s off of the lots last ... Read More
since there is an engine upgrade, will the body style stay the same? If not when does toyota usually chage their body styles? I finally made up my decision to buy a sequoia, but now wilth a more pwoerful engine, I might wait. I got a quote for $300 over invoice. If I do wait for an 05 I know it'll be close to MSRP.
For those that care like me, I have heard from a Toyota Regional Representative that they are finally stepping up to the plate with the 2005 Sequoia engine. Next year it gets the 4.7 Liter with 270 HP!!!!!!! It is not a monster but now it can compete with others on specs. Please correct me if wrong but I think he said it was a VVtech?
We're almost certain we're buying a 2004 Limited; however, we cannot get a straight answer on when the Seq. body style will change. We've heard 2006, 2007 and just today, possibly 2005. We are a bit apprehensive about spending 40+ on a car that will look outdated in less than a year! Also, we are disappointed the Seq. doesn't have 2nd row curtain airbags as an option - possibly a change ... Read More
Those ugly ducklings is what aggiedog is recommending Toyota/lexus to follow ? Not going to happen. Have you physically seen the QX56 ? U-G-L-Y is the only word for it. Oh, I know you are refering to the hp. Sorry once again. Toyota won't join the hp race, rather a tweak, maybe a hybrid V8 powerplant in their f/s trucks and SUV's, starting from the Lexus family and trickling downwards to ... Read More
There has not been much talk on the upcoming redesign of Sequoia. My gut feel is that Toyota is going to drop the 4.7L V8 and go for a bigger displacement 5.6L plus engine on the LC and Sequoia and keep the 4.7L on the 4-Runner in order to stay in league with Nissan Armada and GM and Ford SUVs. Has anyone else heard anything on this ? It is about ... Read More
Yea, listening to autospies predictions and expecting them to be correct is akin to looking up the gossip magazines at your favorite magazine rack at the checkout counter at the grocery store predicting the end of the world in April of 1999 !!! Folks, autospies drives traffic with MADE UP stories. How else would they justify people talking about them and getting $$$ from ad agencies ?? Autospies knows didly about ... Read More
Can't decide between the Sequoia and Acura MDX. Right now we have a 2000 (black) Avalon XLS and love it. Absolutely NO problems with this vehicle. We need something bigger since we have 3 kids. Mini-van is out of the question. If Toyota is doing a major over haul on the 2005 Sequoia's then we'll probably wait until next year.
