Have had vehicle for 3 years and love it! Typical Toyota quality. Fantastic in 4WD, great on and off road stability. Tires last about 25,000. VSC an annoyance when taking a corner!

Under engineered brakes
By NancyH on 10/20/03 00:00 AM (PDT)

I have had to replace front and back breaks every 25,000 to 15,000 miles. I live on a hill but think brakes should last longer than this. Brakes were never a problem with my 4-runner or pathfinder driving the same hill everyday. Each time I replace the brakes its about $300. I like the car alot but want to trade it in for another car that has brakes that can handle the hills.

This is a nice riding vehicle and has plenty of room. I have to rave with the Toyota line and wouldn't drive anything else. My overall experiences, throughout the years have been excellent.

Legendary Toyota Quality is just that, a legend. I replaced ALL of the following in the first 12 months: 1) Control module for dashboard instruments 2) Front brake pads 3) Front rotors 4) Rear brake pads 5) Rear rotors 6) Hatch window weather seal 7) Hatch window wiper 8) Power steering pump 9) Alternator 10) Battery 11) Handgrips, coat hooks, etc. I replaced the following in year 2: 1) Brake Pads/Rotors on all 4 wheels 2) All 4 tires (between 25K - 30K miles) The on-the-fly 4 wheel drive system takes a LONG time (> 1 min) to engage.
