mickxian - you should always start your offer as low as possible...usually with the invoice price. Don't believe the TMV prices ... those are inflated prices made up by Edmunds. Their goal is to help the dealers make money by making the uneducated buyer feel good when they get a deal at the TMV price. Face it, the TMV prices are only a few bucks below MSRP and who pays ... Thanks for your advice watsac, I found a Toyota dealer 90 mi from my home who will sell me the same car plus it has alloy wheels. I will be paying $24,324...a price I can live with. Salesman said it is $100 over his invoice. BTW I live in central Wisconsin. :) Read More...

ruthie2 - tell him to stick it and walk away. I don't know where you live but there MUST be at least 2 Toyota dealers in your area and I would recommend trying the other one. Also, try shopping by phone. Call other dealers and ask for their 'internet' sales rep. Even if they do not officially have one, they will direct you to someone who understands you are shopping primarily ... Read More...

I'm having difficulty obtaining a 2008 Rav4 Limited V-6 with the tow prep package. Toyota's web site says that the V-6 models can tow 2000 Lbs. without the tow prep package. Has anyone any experience towing a boat without the tow prep package. Although my trailer load is about 1750 lbs. I like to have a comfortable margin when launching and recovering. Read More...

Your best bet is to get in touch with the internet managers at quite a few different dealerships. My best prices weren't coming from the largest dealerships which suprised me. You can contact them through toyota's website to start the ball rolling. I would then call all of them that respond and ask for their best price (make sure you're talking real numbers so they ... You started with a base of $19,931 = (Edmunds/CR invoice $20,611 - holdback $453 - Whsl Fin Res $227) because Toyota builds holdback and whsl fin res into their base invoice. When I say invoice with Toyota I am talking about what Edmunds calls the invoice. This includes the Dealer Holdback and Whsl Financial Reserves which is where the $20,611 come in.
