I bought 2008 RAV4 V6 at March 1, 2008. Engine, VSC and 4WD lights all on yesterday. I went to dealer to fix it. I was told have to pay $114 for inspection, then have to pay all cost for repair. I was dispoint for the answer. Anyone know: Why to check and fix this problem not be covered still in 4 years warranty? Is this a common problem in Toyota? ... Read More

Has anyone figured out what the problem is with the Rav4 starters? I have a 2008 Rav4 and I just started having this problem as well. Actually just got the RAV4 out of the repair shop, the differential was the problem not the coupler. Having difficulty getting parts from Toyota a used differential was obtained from a wrecking yard that solved the problem. I am looking at certified pre-owned vehicles, including Rav4s from 2008-2009. There does not appear to be any low interest financing on certified Toyotas (as there is on VW's--1.9%). Does anyone know what APRs and loan lengths are available from Toyota on certified cars?
Barbara, I don't know that the tanks are different sizes, just suggesting that a size difference could affect perceived mileage. IMO...That it is WAY too much money. You did not indicate if your offer included rebate money. Even if $1000 that would have brought you down to $26400. I can't speak for the KBB information but I do know that Edmunds data was accurate except that it does not include cost for Toyota Dealer Advertising (TDA) which is approx. $450 dpending on where you live. Edmunds does mention the non-inclusion of ... Read More
Happy then pissed, my Saturn decided to throw a rod at 185,000 and with a mechanic's quote of 4,000 to fix it became time to buy. Having bought new in the past I went on a shopping extravaganza. My wife and I were in the market for a Camry, Accord, or Malibu but the Rav4 caught our eye and became our first choice. I did the email thing – sending an ... Read More

Hi chenchun. I believe that you are in Toyota's Cincinnati region. In that part of the country, Toyota Financial Services' September buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a base 2008 RAV4 4WD with 12,000 miles per year are .00116 and 69%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its Tier 1+ credit tier. The problem is that TFS places restrictions upon what options can ... Read More
Hi All, I've been unexpectedly thrown into the new vehicle market courtesy of hurricane Ike. I just recently began looking at the RAV4. Just interested in the base 4-cyl fwd, as I'm trying to keep the price as close to $20K (or lower) as possible. I just received a quote of the following: VEHICLE: 2008 Toyota Rav4 2WD (4-cyl, Automatic) M.S.R.P $23,546.00 Internet Price (Before Rebate or Cash Down) $22,374.00 Rebate ... Read More
I just leased a 2008 base V6. Make sure you get the Gap Insurance included in the lease upfront- have them include it for free. They sprung it on me in the finance guy's office when I was signing the lease. It was the first I heard of it and that Toyota was the only company that didn't include it.
I know the lease factor on a 2008 RAV4 is .00116. Does anybody know what it may be on a 2009? from Toyota Finance? Thanks
I just bought a 2008 4WD Limited Rav4. I "stepped-down" from a 2002 Highlander Limited. I really miss the auto-on/off headlight feature and, since I saw the little bubble on the dash, assumed the Rav4 had it also. I am really bummed about it and understand it is offered in the Rav4 in Canada, but not US models. This makes no sense to me. Is there an after-market conversion or can ... Read More
Hi Car_man. I am purchasing a 2008 Base V6 RAV4 from a dealer in Farmingtonhills, Michigan. The MSRP (including options) is $26,668, and they gave me $1,047 discount plus $500 rebeat. I did not pickup the car yet (next Tuesday), and I am thinking to switch to lease for 36 month/12000mi/year first. What is a reasonable lease payment with no down payment? What is the Toyota Financial Services' current buy rate ... Read More
While it may be sporty the CX7 has a HUGE drawback.... Fuel Economy and the requirement to use Premium. In addition even though it's bigger in dimensions the use of the interior space is a waste. As to cost, with the same equipment ( Navi, leather/heated seats, sunroof, gauges, 440 wt JBL w/Bluetooth, wheels ) and better Fuel Economy and more room inside the RAV lists for $33500 while the CX7 ... Hi pauliedell. You never mentioned the selling price or MSRP of the RAV that you are interested in leasing. These are important numbers for you as a consumer to know for two reasons. First, the selling prices of leased vehicles can be negotiated, just as if you were paying cash for them. Without knowing what this vehicle's selling price is in relation to its MSRP you don't know how much of ... Read More
Definitely not a reasonable deal! Reason: Toyota is not offering any incentives on the RAV4 in the greater NY and Connecticut areas. Come up to MA and you'll get a great deal. I believe residency restrictions apply, though. For a little more money you could be in a V-6 4Runner SR5. I believe the dealership you're working with could do better, but nothing I'd jump at. Price the 4Runner or wait ... Read More
We get it already — fuel prices suck. And while we pity the poor sod who bought a new full-size SUV a few years ago and is now stuck with a fuel bill that has doubled and a vehicle whose residual value makes manure futures look appealing, everyone wants solutions.
