    Does anyone know when, what year, the RAV4 went to DBW, E-throttle. That was the technique Toyota used in an attempt to fix this same problem, seemingly, with the RX330. Flawed transaxle design modifications incorporated in the early RX was migrated to other FWD vehicles within just a few years.

    i am having the same problem with my 2003 rav4. they have changed the thermostat and thermostat switch and it went on again after two weeks of not going on. have you gotten any helpful feedback on this? i won't take it to toyota, as i know it will cost me a fortune and they won't solve the problem.

    That happens, randomly, modern day glass manufacturing puts those molecules under some VERY serious stress factors, sometimes too much. Right rear passenger side window of my 2001 RX300 went that way about a year ago. At first I thought we had been "snipered".

    I've owned a 2001 Sienna and out 120k on it. Just bought a V6 base model RAV4. It is MUCH quieter than my Sienna was. On the minus side, the interior is a big step down. Cushion in rear seats is a joke. Toyota seems to be putting the money in the engine & electronics and less in creature comforts.

    Interesting you mentioned brake problems. My whole family hase Toyota products, and virtually all of us have had consistent braking problems. I have had 4-5 different brake problems in 2 years, on my RAV4, and my Dad has had similar problems on his 2001 Avalon.
