Keep in mind that Toyotas are priced and sold by region, so what is a deal here may not apply there. Also there was a $750 dealer incentive last month that AFAIK is not available this month.

Note there was a typo in my post. The title said Prius II (which is correct) but in the post I said we purchased a 2013 III - it is a II. We leased a 2010 III but opted for the II this time. Roberts Toyota in Columbia, TN was the dealer. The car was listed on ebay and on their web page. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Two-/321097227230 They had a decent price on it ... Read More

We are shopping around for a 2013 Prius five with Technology package. A dealer in town found a 2012 model for us. MSRP is $35.5K with options added. He is offering the car for $23.4K, and also saying that they offer a 7yr/100Kmiles warranty for free. Should I be worried, or just scoop up the vehicle after a test drive? Can toyota dealers increase warranties like this? Having bought cars before, ... Read More

  • Got Our New Prius

Written by: mortienne on Feb 18, 2013 12:11:21 PM

So we pulled the trigger on our new Prius this weekend. Ended up with a 2013 Prius 3 with the solar sunroof package and floor mats. The total sticker, including destination, was $28,354. We put down $1,245.53 to get the Toyota $1,000 match offer. This covered all the fees, DMV costs and 1st month's payment. We also used our $500 Toyota loyalty coupon. We had no trade, we just handed back ... Read More

  • How much of a discount do you expect on a 2012 vs 2013 Prius right now?

I can get a 2012 Toyota Prius Three with solar roof for $24,809 + TTL, or a 2013 Prius Three with solar roof for $25,944 + TTL. I'm inclined to get the 2012, since I plan to keep my car for awhile. What do you think?

  • My take on te Prius vers TCH

Written by: brianric on Sep 8, 2012 5:35:56 PM

I owned a 2010 Prius for a total of four months and took a $6,000 hit in the pocket book to get rid of it. There are way to many blind spots on the car. I came close to totaling it four times. I was so scared after the fourth time I started hating the Prius. Traded the Prius on a 2010 Honda CR-V, which I still have. Bought a 2012 ... Read More

I would not hold my breath for Toyota to offer a Plug-in hybrid. No need to... Toyota will unveil its long anticipated plug-in hybrid Prius at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In early 2010, over 500 Prius PHEVs will be leased to fleet customers in Japan, the United States, and Europe. These pre-production cars will let Toyota evaluate their performance in a real-world environment before full-scale production starts. Retail sales are planned ... Read More

Amen. Someone finally gets it. All these Prius Huggers think the value of their $27,000 yesterday's technology is going to somehow increase as time goes on. It's simply not the case. Toyota is abandoning the current Prius system in favor of electricity and so is every other hybrid car maker. Yes, the majority of cars produced in 2013 will still be gasoline powered vehicles but they will all be Prius competitors ... Read More

Here's where I don't get it. $27,000 for a Prius that gets what, 46MPG? A decent Toyota Yaris can be had for $14,000 and gets 31MPG. At 15,000 miles a year at EVEN A WHOPPING $7.00 per gallon of gas, that would mean.... Yaris $3,387.10 Prius $2,282.61 WOW!!! WATCH OUT BILL GATES, WE HAVE AN ANNUAL SAVINGS OF $1,104.49 IN GAS MONEY!!!! 5 year loan at 6% plus 8% sales tax ... Read More
