  • Re: Prius V lease residual and MF? [dwynne]

    Written by: Car_man on Jan 22, 2012 11:20:49 AM

Hey dwynne. While as you suspected Toyota is not currently providing any lease support on the Prius, its standard lease program isn't too bad. TFS' current buy rate standard lease money factor is .00200 for consumers who qualify for its Tier 1+ credit tier. That's equivalent to an interest rate of around 4.8%. While in today's low rate environment that's certainly nothing to write home about, historically speaking it's not too ... Read More

Hi cmyawn. In most of the areas that I have seen Toyota's programs for...and there's a lot of them, 12 different regions...Toyota is not currently providing any lease support on the 2012 Prius. If that is indeed the case in your area and you were to lease one through Toyota Financial Services right now, you would have to use its standard lease money factor. The last time that I checked, TFS' ... Read More

We are shopping around for a 2013 Prius five with Technology package. A dealer in town found a 2012 model for us. MSRP is $35.5K with options added. He is offering the car for $23.4K, and also saying that they offer a 7yr/100Kmiles warranty for free. Should I be worried, or just scoop up the vehicle after a test drive? Written by: crazedcommuter on Jan 9, 2013 5:37:32 PM

I was in central NJ last weekend and 2 dealers had more 12's on the lot than 13's. Prices are not yet at "sale" level to bite yet on those prices unless you urgently need the car. I'm thinking that Toyota will tell the dealers to start dropping prices $2000 to $2500 on leftover 12's during Jan and Feb. Check Fitzmall's prices in Maryland to compare against your dealers.

I would bet there are new '12s around, best thing to do is just google "your city" and "toyota" and start emailing dealers, asking for their best price on what you want. Why not ask for pricing on '12 and '13 both?

Hi Slsu, You might want to look for a prius w/o the clear paint protection as it's almost pure 100% dealer markup. The docs fee sounded high as well. I see most dealers charge $299 (DCH Toyota for example) for their docs fees or computer fees. That you can probably negotiate. Remember you have the upper hand and the dealer is looking to offload the vehicle.
