@jsct, The MSRP was originally 24,848. That of course, includes the $750 freight charge. They also included carpet mats and the rear bumper Prius applique. (I had no choice there). The price before taxes, title, tags and $200 processing fee was 21,980. Toyota was running a $1000 rebate in the Mid-Atlantic states, so the advertised price came out to 20,980 before TTT. The TOTAL price of the vehicle was $21,957. I'm ... Read More

We bought our Prius back in November 2011 and now have just over 2000 miles on it. So far, it's a mostly good report. We love the car, it's amazingly smooth riding for such a small car -- heck, it's a better ride than the 2005 Odyssey we traded in on it, which was a far better ride than the Cadillac I had before that. 2011 Toyota Prius

I didn't have the patience to chase them down (dealers start playing games on what's available or not, etc.). This was in the Peninsula in SF Bay Area.

Last week Toyota of Orange had 15 Prius II for $20,999 after $500 Military Rebate (or $21,500 for the rest of us - still pretty good). Truecar is giving me prices of $22,000, so 2011 prices are coming down pretty fast.

I think 2010 or later is more realistic. Few reasons. (1) Upcoming hybrids (TCH, Sienna, RAV4, Sequoia?, 4Runner?) will eat up all capacity/manpower of Toyota suppliers. So very tough to introduce another technology/platform. Not to mention potential quality problem.
