2010 Toyota Prius II 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
Definitely an engineer's dream car. Very high tech and well finished. Significantly better than 2009-- especially the interior and additional power. The handling and braking is exceptional. And the scheduled maintenance is as close to none as possible. It does take some time to get use to and it's almost 500 page manual does a good job explaining the differences of driving a hybrid.
Favorite Features
The mileage--truly unbelievable.
Suggested Improvements
Change the metal trim on the steering wheel. It is not comfortable to run your hand across during a turn. The beeping for reverse and a different beep for not having your seat belt on must go. Sometimes I just want to back the car out of the garage and it is screaming at me.

Wow
Vehicle
2010 Toyota Prius V 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
Bought new in oct. And wow what a car. The advanced technology package is unbelievable. Did not know a car could do so many things well. First tank of gas had an average of 56.5 mpg. It was worth the wait to get this car. Toyota is light years ahead of all the other cars on the road.
Favorite Features
Love the navigation system and the JBL sound system. Leather seats are like nothing I have had before. Really soft and don't have the heavy leather feel. Did get the windows tinted and made a big difference on the front window.
Suggested Improvements
Only thing I can think of is a rear hatch release from the drivers seat and a better cover for the navigation screen.

Possibly the best?
Vehicle
2010 Toyota Prius III 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I have owned a loaded 2007 Camry and Prius hybrid. I traded both in and bought the new generation 3. This car is every bit as refined as the Camry and far superior to the generation 2 Prius. This could possibly be the best car ever built by any auto manufacturer. It addresses fuel economy, looks, styling beauty, comfort and driving excitement--yes--I said excitement. Press the power button mode and this car takes off like a rocket. Handles and drives like a more expensive car. I can't say enough about what Toyota has done to create possibly the best ever automobile ever to grace the highways--I know doubters are out there, but---give it a try and any honest person will agree with what I stated.

Nothing has to be done. Excellence in a beautiful package.

Good Reliable Transportation
Vehicle
2010 Toyota Prius IV 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
This is my second Prius and I am sold on the reliability and economy. I enjoyed my 2005 Prius so much I decided I would get a third generation one. I have only one complaint and the rough ride of the tires that came on the car Yokohama Avid S33. I believe different tires would make a big difference.
Favorite Features
Gas mileage, roominess and driveability.
Suggested Improvements
Recommend softer tires to improve the ride.

Happy owner
Vehicle
2010 Toyota Prius IV 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
This is my third Prius, and it is the finest car I've ever owned! I've none of the complaints I've seen in other reviews. My car has undercoating, and is very quiet in town and on the road. The sound system is superb. I've just completed a 1500 mile trip, mainly on interstates -- and the mileage indicator reads 60.0 mpg! And this is pretty much confirmed by the rough check of miles between fill ups, and amount of fuel added. The main reason for purchasing this model was the solar powered ventilating system when parked in the sun, a real plus in the South.
Favorite Features
Solar powered ventilation, gas mileage, smart key, excellent handling and performance, satellite radio, sound system with CD changer, rear view camera.
Suggested Improvements
I have none to suggest.

2010 Vast Improvement Over 2008
Vehicle
2010 Toyota Prius II 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
Sold my 2008 Prius Package VI (top-of- the-line) for the new 2010 Prius Package II (bottom of the line). Best thing we ever did. The new 2010 has much more comfortable seating and more interior room overall. The power, eco, and ev modes actually work (not just an advertising gimmick). With only 2,500 miles so far, we have been averaging about 51 mpg. Toyota dealer installed a Toyota Blue Tooth in the car and it works just fine. The ride of this car is just right--not too soft, not too harsh. Headlight illumination is outstanding. There are just enough graphics to provide the information you want without being over-done (like in my 2008 pkg VI).
Favorite Features
Obviously the high mileage. Smart Key. Functionality of a five door hatchback. Reliability. Value/price.
Suggested Improvements
Eliminate the rattles (thousands of 2010 Prius owners are complaining about these issues at Prius Chat, including myself). Center console access still needs improvement.

Great Car
Vehicle
2010 Toyota Prius III 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I have owned for a little over two weeks. 51.079 MPG on first tank, we live on a large hill and that drastically reduces performance. Center console rattles a little when closed. Love the hands free. Lots of power in PWR mode. EV mode only available once car is warmed up, then only up to 9 mph at first then up to 25 mph for short distances. Rear view is limited.
Favorite Features
Fuel Economy, Hands Free, Displays
Suggested Improvements
EV mode usable right away, if battery is charged.

A stellar car
Vehicle
2010 Toyota Prius III 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I waited until I put on 2000 miles before reviewing as I was afraid my initial enthusiasm would cloud my judgment, but nothing has changed. This is a terrific, well-designed car. Many comments here lament the lack of power, but it scoots fast enough for me. In fact it feels MUCH faster than our 96 Civic - Love the CVT. So far I have been averaging over 51 MPG (calculated, over 53 mph displayed) and I have not been trying hard. I have a 12 mile commute with a suburban-highway-city mix. Toyota really thought out all the details. Everything is where it should be and form follows function well here. (ps. The reverse beep issue that others raise is easily solved for free at the dealer)
Favorite Features
Stability/traction control, abs, airbags and a solid feel make me feel safe. UNREAL mileage in a roomy, great handling, peppy (I am driving in power mode a bit...), versatile (comfy back seat for large adults - hatchback space for hauling and dogs) handsome car. The least obsolete car you can buy.
Suggested Improvements
No USB standard on all trims - amazing on a tech-heavy car. Eco mode shouldn't use any engine braking when the gas pedal is released, fine for other modes but not ECO. I wish they had left out the center console. Blind spots to the rear. Metallic black would have been nice.

Very Nice Car
Vehicle
2010 Toyota Prius III 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I have owned this car for two months and have put 5000 miles on it. I have been on a 3000 mile trip and the performance of the car was great. On that trip I used 47 gallons of gas which gave me 63.8 miles per gallon. You can't ask for anything better. I really like driving the car because it is different than what I was use to driving. In all honesty if you are looking for a nice car with good performance, a nice ride, and outstanding gas mileage this is the one you are looking for. I down graded the exterior design due to the spoiler blocking your rear view vision. I thank they need to re-design the rear view window for better visibility and safety. All in all it is a great vehicle to own.
Favorite Features
Navigation system is great, I really like it. The best gas mileage of any car on the road. Break system is very good - a little touchy, but very good. Overall performance of the vehicle is very good.
Suggested Improvements
Cup holders could be in a better location. Rear window and spoiler need to be re-designed for better visibility and safety. Interior color needs to match seats and bugs chip paint in front of car. Need a clear coat of something over the paint to protect the paint.

2010 Toyota Prius II 4dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
Purchased our 2010 Prius II this August. Here's what we found: 50 -52 mpg below 60 mph 46 - 49 mpg at sustained 70-75 mph. Rides/feels like a much bigger car. Lots of passing power due to electric motor kicking in. Top speed - 115 mph (rock steady, but wife whimpering). Good storage space; well planned. Pick a small Toyota dealership and don't pay for all the nonsense and gimmicks on the III, IV models. Or wait for the Prius I to come out. You'll like this car, no disappointments.
Favorite Features
Inside roominess - w/rear seat down you can carry an amazing amount; or sleep in it.
