2010 Prius - Next Generation

Re: Insight vs Prius (09) [railroadjames]

Better yet. When ever a (supposed) salesman bad mouths a competitor's product turn a deaf ear and walk away. Facts & fair comparisons are all a good salesman ever needs to sell a car. That and a test drive. Why do you think Toyota has come to be a leader in the automotive world? My '04 Prius is closing in on 100K and nary a problem. Much the same with all (yes I said all) ... Toyota Prius Brake Problems

2004-2009 Prius Brake Failure Rate is High

I read that they redesigned the braking systems for the 2010 Prius. That appears to be Toyota's response to the fact that the U.S. Generation 2 Prius (2004-2009) has had low-speed brake failures reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at 31 times the rate of such failures reported for the 2004-2009 Corolla, which of course has ... Toyota Prius Brake Problems

Re: I had an accident about 6 months ago because of the brakes [sandra21]

I have the same(similar) problem as you. I have 2009 Prius which is about 2 months old. I have had several instances of it seeming to speed up. I took it back to Toyota and the service manager said he had noticed that, also - in other cars. After his mechanic looked at it, he said that if I needed any more adjustments to bring it in. Whether they did anything or not, I do ... Read More...

Re: honda insight / prius pricing [pragmatist1]

We also have no sales tax in NH. This is the email that I sent that led to the bidding war: I have been researching Prius pricing and the following prices appear to be in effect for the Prius + Pkg 2: Base Invoice 21,758 Dest 720 Pkg-2 158 Cash back -$1000 Invoice Prius Base with Pkg 2 – cash back = $21,636 Since the invoice does not reflect the actual dealer cost (due to ... 2010 Prius - Next Generation

I want one :)

So a brief backstory.. my car has died ('98 Cavalier), well, it would basically cost more to fix than it's worth. I've been looking for a new car for a few weeks now and had decided on a 2009 Lexus IS250 with premium and navi. On a whim, I stopped into the Toyota dealership to see the Corolla and sat in an '09 Prius and liked it (imagine that! :)), but was deterred because ... Read More...

Re: Anybody purchase Prius 2009 recently in No CA? [victorias1]

Hey thanks for your help victorias1 but I'm not in a hurry to get a "car". I've been emailing with the dealers on Honda Civic LX, Honda Civic Hybrid and Toyota Prius. So far Toyota dealers are not flexible as the Honda dealers. For both Hondas, I have been able to drive down quite below the Edmunds TMV invoice prices. I'm still waiting for Prius' to go way below what ... Read More...

Re: Anybody purchase Prius 2009 recently in No CA? [sacramento2]

Hi Sacramento2 - I replied to your post on 03-16, however see it is not listed probably because I listed the name and cell number of the salesperson. Contact Concord Toyota Fleet department in Concord, CA. They are awesome. I decided against a Prius #6 purchase for the time -- he offered $780 below DEALER INVOICE in writing. However in Jan 09 purchased 2 new Toyota ... Read More...

2004-2009 Toyota Prius Lease Questions

Re: MF and residual for SoCal [coolacoo]

Hi coolacoo. I'm glad that you find these forums so helpful. Here's the information that you're looking for. Toyota Financial Services' current Southern California buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Prius with 12,000 miles per year are .00102 and 61%, respectively. Keep in mind though that TFS publishes residual value ... Read More...

$21,150 with package #2 OTD

I sent an email to 5 dealerships in Maine and NH requesting the price of $21,500 (plus NH registrations fees) for a 2009 Pine Mica Prius with package #2. The dealership that offered the best deal (Prime Motor Group in Saco, ME) was very responsive, polite, and conscientious at every stop so I have enjoyed doing the deal with them. We settled on an even lower price ... Read More...
