2008 Toyota Prius 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I have about 3,000 miles on my 2008 Prius (package # 6) and I can't recommend it enough. This is the best car I have ever had. I've mastered the glide and coast and am averaging about 60 MPG on my local drives and about 53 MPG on the longer highway drives. Your mileage will vary greatly depending on what kind of driving style you have and routes you take.
Favorite Features
All the extra features like JBL sound system, consumption meter, backup camera, etc. Five star government safety rating and side curtain airbags are a great comfort.
Suggested Improvements
The only thing I would change would be the split in the rear window which takes some getting used to.

Great little gas saver.

You really have to drive one to believe it. We were looking to buy the 2009 Corolla but after driving both, the Prius was the clear choice for us. We are averaging 48.34 mpg and what a fun little car to drive. We took a 160 mile round trip on the 2nd day we had it and were very pleased with the comfort and performance on the open road. If you are looking for a gas saver be sure to test drive one before buying a gas powered sub compact, and compare total cost to own and warranty.
Favorite Features
The great fuel economy, touchscreen display, keyless entry and operation, and overall interior space, four adults can ride in comfort. Performance will surprise you.
Suggested Improvements
Driver's seat needs to travel about another 6 inches back for people over 6',and one more cup holder in front for my commuter coffee mug (like the one in the tacoma).

2008 Toyota Prius 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
Over all an excellent car as Toyota is famous for. Now that gas prices are sky-rocketing, it has begun to pay off in mileage. We traded a 2001 Grand Prix GTP supercharged sedan for the Prius. Our gas expense has now gone from close to $400 down to about $115 a month. That is substantial.
Favorite Features
Map, headlamps, heads up display, smart key system, fold down back seats.
Suggested Improvements
Very little adjustment in the steering wheel! In high temps map stops working. Dealer could not rectify problem, need more padding on door and console arm rests, more accessable 12 volt power outlets, steering wheel sets way too far into the dash. Offer a free 3 day class to learn about it.

Experience of a former Corolla Driver
Vehicle
2008 Toyota Prius 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I have been averaging 50 MPG in my first week of ownership, driving on the Grand Parkway/I-10/Beltway 8. The car does not handle as a peppy Corolla, but has more passenger room. The cargo space is not as big as a Corolla, but adequate to haul the weekly groceries. Be sure to buy "vehicle shield" or the road noise will get to you. As a techno-geek, I enjoy driving the car.
Favorite Features
The audio/climate controls on the steering wheel; programmable homelink on the driver mirror; nice graphics display of powertrain sources.
Suggested Improvements
Include vehicle shield as a standard; improve the view in the read-view mirror; more cargo space.

From Supercrew to Prius
Vehicle
2008 Toyota Prius Standard 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
I don't usally write reviews but I felt I needed to write this one. I've owned this car a week so I've still got new car fever. I've been driving a Ford Supercrew for 7 years so going to a Prius was a new view on the world to say the least. If you are a big vehicle driver you need to check this car out... no regrets. My 2 kids have enough room in the back even with me (6'1" 220 lbs) in the driver's seat. We all have room to spare. My wife and I find ourselves fighting over who gets the car. Our first tank of gas got 46.7 MPG and we are doing even better on our 2nd.
Favorite Features
The display with current MPG is addictive, the optional blue tooth is a must if you use your phone while driving.
Suggested Improvements
Passenger need ability to update phone setting while car is in motion, power plug in back.

2008 Toyota Prius Standard 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
My wife and I love driving this car. It's great on gas, averaging 46 - 48mpg, mostly hwy driving. I'm able to get my 10' surfboard inside with no problems. We got this thing fully loaded w/pkg 6. It's comfortable, easy to drive and doesn't lack the power to blend onto the freeway.
Favorite Features
Passes up the gas pump. Love the leather interior and there's lots of room for passengers. Gets around on the hwy with cruise set at 70mph and still gets 46 - 48 mpg.
Suggested Improvements
Not a must but would be nice if the drivers seat had an adjustable lumbar support. Have gotten used to the one on my FX35. Other than that, nothing else I can think of. Excellent ride!!

Holy Gas Mileage, Batman!!
Vehicle
2008 Toyota Prius 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
Review
It's a blast driving down the road at 35-40 mph, look at the display and see you are on electric only. I think I've put gas in it 3 times since I bought it in early March. Average about 42-44 mpg. Handles really good and is very quiet. As annoying as the backup beeper is, it is a good safety factor as the car is so quiet.
Favorite Features
Gas mph, smart key (weird pushing the power button and not turning a key) Bluetooth, and everything else.
Suggested Improvements
Been sitting here for ten minutes trying to think of one. Oh yeah, put a real horn in this thing.

Only have the car a less than a month, already hear rattling noise right under the windshield; this noise goes away when I press down the panels (panels on both driver and passager sides are loose!!). Very disappointed.

Very quality automobile, does not feel like an economy car. Quiet, solid, tight. 6000 miles on it and no problems yet. Even if it wasn't a hybrid it would still be a great auto.
Favorite Features
Mileage, exterior design, interior room for small auto. Large cargo area. Keyless system.
Suggested Improvements
None, I like the car as it is.

We have about 1K on our package 2 and my wife and I are very pleased. Purchased for the mileage (abt 46 so far) but also pleased with room, comfort, how quiet it is and the smooth ride.
Favorite Features
Other the mileage, smart key, inside features, more storage than anticipated.
Suggested Improvements
Nothing major. Have to adjust to blind spot from front window supports when cornering.
