It sounds like the electronic speedometer connector has a short. I'm not sure about the automatic transmission, but on a manual the connector is on the passenger's side of the transmission, close to the back. 1994 Toyota 4x4 Pickup - rear backing plate

My 1994 4x4 Toyota Pickup has a rear driver's side backing plate that is rusting. Soon I am sure my brakes will be affected by this action. Does anyone know what kind of a job it would be to replace this backing plate? Do I have to take out the axle to do this job? Thanks jzur Read More...

I've got a 1994 Toyota Pickup; I did an oilchange onit, but upon taking off the oil filter, there was no oil in the oil filter...., I repalced the filter with the new one, then filled the motor with 5 quarts of oil and then the dipstick did not read anything....
