Rare invoice price buying opportunity for So. Cal. buyers...
Good news for southern California buyers. After many days of phone calls to many Toyota dealers, only one is allowing exact invoice pricing on the new 2009 Corollas and Matrixs. It is at Manhattan Beach Toyota. Ask for the internet director manager. Save $2,000 off from MSRP right now. I just ordered my 2009 Matrix XRS Sundance color from them, since they don't ... Re: whoa ecotrklvr [nippononly]
My numbers were from Toyota's website - for a FWD RAV4, not AWD. See link title Wanna know something even crazier? I just sat in two new 2009 Corollas - they are both listed for 27/35 mpg with the 1.8 Auto. I just checked, the Corolla final drive ratio for the 1.8 Auto is 4.130, and the Matrix is 4.312. And the Matrix is taller, so it'll have more drag at highway speeds. ... Read More...

2008 Matrix XR 5 speed
I purchased a 2008 Matrix XR 5 speed manul with ABS, all weather guard package, and extra value package 2 (alloy wheels, moonroof, cruise, fog lamps, ground effects). MSRP was $18900. I purcashed for $15,577 (includes $750 Toyota rebate + $400 Toyota finance rebate for military). I didn't negotiate the $399 processing fee down so that was added to my bottom line. ... Read More...

Re: 2009 Matrix Market Data Flawed! [observer999]
I totally agree but for different reasons. I have 2005 XRS and looked at all the competitors before buying the Matrix. The Mazda 3?! Please! I'm 6'3" and couldn't fit. I drive primarily city, in San Francisco and drive a 6 speed on the hills. The Matrix blows everything else out of the water..stop light to stop light. As far a versatilty..the flat folding seats are ... Read More...
2009 Matrix Market Data Flawed!
My wife and I (40 & 50 something respectfully) have owned a 2003 Toyota XR AWD Matrix for the last two years. We both love it! My wife uses it to commute to work daily (120 miles roundtrip) and consistently gets over 30 mpg with the 1.8L engine. The AWD is awesome and one major reason we choose the Matrix: AWD + MPG = an ICON. I'm seriously doubting the so-called market ... Read More...

Re: 08 Matrix...possibly [nippononly]
Wow - I missed your reply way back in October! I signed up for notification alert but didn't get this one... Just came upon it. Thanks for all the great info. If I do go with the Matrix, I wonder if I should get the 2007 at a lower price or get the 2008? I don't think I'll go with the 2009... not sure about that one. I realized that I did leave out that my Echo is automatic and ... Read More...
