I've since sold my 2006 Matrix back to the dealer and purchased a 2009 (at zero per cent interest). Town Toyota installed a Camber Adjustment kit K929 MOOG on my 2006 Matrix. I let them discard my old worn-out Continentals and put on the winter studs. Town's service manager acknowledged no problem with the Matrix and tire wear. He has read the forums. The problem was that not enough of us filed with Toyota about the problem. I purchased a 2005 Matrix at the beginning of 2006, with 20,000 miles on it. The dealership had put new tires on it when I bought the car. I drove it till 54,000 miles and needed to replace the tires, now it has 70,000 miles and it needs tires again. I bought Pirelli's and made the tire shop take them off because of the rough ride, they put Mastercraft on it and I got 16,000 ... Read More...

I just traded in my Honda for a toyota. The 2006 Honda Civic was nothing but trouble. I had 33,000 km on the car, took it in for a balancing. Told me I needed new tires on the back. I have a 2006 Matrix with 26500 on it with shot tires. I usually get an extra 10-20K on my tires. I have had problems with gas mileage, noise and transmission fliud. Turns out that the computer program is bad and they flipped out the computer but I had to pay for the early oil flush and the transmission flush (550)and now the tires (another 500). Hi, We own a 2006 base Matrix and have experienced the abnormal tire wear you describe exactly. Tires gone at 14k, lots of vibration, cupped tires, etc. Toyota was NO help in three visits. It appears that the problem originates from poor assembly at the Canadian plant. The jig welded strut mounts were miss aligned and therefore cause the miss alignment. The solution ... Read More...

We have a 2006 Matrix XR (2wd) that came with Continental tires. We didnt notice any tire noise, but we are both a little hard of hearing. We did the 5K and 10K tire rotaion ourselves, so in a sense there was no written record of this. At 15K, we had the dealer look at the car because we were noticing vibration.
