2006 Toyota Matrix XR 4dr Wagon AWD (1.8L 4cyl 4A)
The Matrix is a great car. It's comfortable, roomy, and stylish. Folding down the rear seats creates a very roomy cargo space. The rear window opens upward, allowing long items to easily extend out the back. The seats are comfortable, the dashboard is futuristic. My passengers report plenty of legroom. Lot's of little features like a flat-folding passenger seat and an 'ordinary' AC outlet add up. I like it so much that when my '03 Matrix was totalled in an accident, I went out and bought an '06.
Tons of cargo space. 4WD, ABS, side-curtain air bags. Distinctive styling. Very comfortable.
The Matrix is not a fast car. It could use a more powerful engine. The XRS is the 'sport' model, but is only available with a manual tramsmission. More flexible option packages would be nice. The radio/CD changer is adequate, but nothing special.
