2006 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV 4dr SUV 4WD (4.7L 8cyl 5A)

Review

Refined, quite, smooth and powerful. Supberb fit and finish. Excellent on interstate or pot holes. Confidence inspiring brakes and excelleration. I have owned 4-wheel Ford Exploirer and all-time-4 Range Rover. They were both older and both may be technically superior today, but I cannot imagine loving any vehicle like my Cruiser

Favorite Features

87 octane gas. Suspension (and adjustments), brakes, steering, transmission, firm adjustible seats, adjustible height control, a real tailgate etc. Quality!

Suggested Improvements

Needs memory seats badly. Front cup holders hard to use. Rear seats useless except for kids. GPS nav way, way overloaded with features and manual for it could be better. No complaints with what really matters. Does deserve power retractable sideview mirrors.

2006 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV 4dr SUV 4WD (4.7L 8cyl 5A)

Review

Quieter than my Subaru Outback, Honda Civic and my Cherokee. Superb built interior/exterior. Examined underneath, almost every component is massive and solid. Fitting is tight. If you are contemplating buying one, just do it, you will not regret it.

Favorite Features

Everything, except that cheap looking wood dash applique. Mine does not have one.

Suggested Improvements

Diesel engine, third row seat should be deleted.

2006 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV 4dr SUV 4WD (4.7L 8cyl 5A)

Review

Drives like a dream. It's so tight and well made. Tranny is smooth and engine is quiet.

Favorite Features

Overall package is great! Adjustable suspension is super. Plenty of power. A tailgate is great old school design.

Suggested Improvements

More front leg room + taller windshield. Entry lights at night would be nice. Memory seats. Front end could be more aggressive. Full rear AC controls for the front. More storage up front. In dash CD Changer (in the console takes up space). Front and rear parking sensors instead of camera.

Review

Well worth the price of admission. Compliments from everyone who sees and rides in it. This is my 4th Cruiser and they still are the best actually still made in Japan SUV out there. I've owned 41 vehicles in 22 years and this is the finest overall one yet for its intended purpose.

Favorite Features

Drives itself. Tracks down the road with ease. Quieter inside than most cars. The fit and finish is evident everywhere. Navigation is easy to use. Rear hatch + a tailgate is rare these days. Off road abilities. Resale value.

Suggested Improvements

Adjustable pedals for more leg room. Add 2-3 inches of height to side mirrors. Quieter rear air conditioning. A common tire size so you have more than 3 choices of tires! Delete the stupid 3rd row seats and add more leg room to the back seat. Have the body side molding match every exterior color.

Review

Having owned numerous cars and SUVs and driven countless trucks, I can tell you that if you can afford it, this is the SUV to buy. It skips the phony glam of the lexus LX470 and delivers what Toyota delivers best: a no nonsense product with all of the comfort and capability one could want. It drives great on the highway, and if you can get it stuck off-road, you should not be driving off-road. The Toyota Land Cruiser seems to have more interior room than a Chevy Tahoe. It certainly has a cache that only Land Rover can match, and its reliability is better than anything else out there; but if something does go wrong, it is so easy to just drive down to your neighborhood Toyota dealership.

Favorite Features

Good looks. Great handling from the independent suspension. Awesome resale value.

Suggested Improvements

Need to be able to hook in an iPod.
