2000 Toyota Land Cruiser 4dr SUV 4WD

Review

If you need one vehicle to do
everything this is it! Amenities to
spare, great power, comfort, superior
road manners for its heft, quiet. The
extra fuel cost is countered by its
reliability. With fuel costs up the
cost of a used one is well worth the
investment. Heck, if I can't drive it
I'll rent it out as a luxury studio
apartment.

Best Features

Power everything, towing ease, visibility, ground clearance, smooth powerful engine, profile and exceptional reliability.

Worst Features

Premium fuel...yikes. A TORNADO air intake upgrade and recalibrated computer air and fuel mixture add 2 to 3 more MPG.

2000 Toyota Land Cruiser 4dr SUV 4WD

Review

Got it for my wife in 2001 and she
loved it but wanted a new car with NAV
and DVD. Was happy to get her a
new '04 Acura MDX since I took over the
Landcruiser. Great on long trips, in
bad weather and everyday driving.
Steady performer that can be driven all
day comfortably. Only problem in 48K
miles is replacement of rearview
mirror. Love the truck

Best Features

Expansive view of the Road, room for everything, comfort.

Worst Features

Gas mileage

2000 Toyota Land Cruiser 4dr SUV 4WD

Review

I have had Mercedes, Lexus, Jaguar and
many others, but nothing has been as
good as my Land Cruiser. It is built
well, rides well, holds up well and
performs well. It is the only car I have
ever kept more than three years and why
not? It looks and runs just as it did 4
years ago when new. I will definitely
replace this with another Land Cruiser
or the Lexus of he same type.

Best Features

Ride, comfort and reliability. I have not had a trip to the dealer for anything beyond planned service. I have 54,000 miles and have never even replaced the brakes.

Worst Features

Aside from the gas mileage, everyone should have a Land Cruiser.

Review

Though it will never be a sports car,
it handles quit well with the full time
4WD.
The 4WD enables hard cornering with
limit loss in momentum, but major loss
of rubber.
Feels solid and is very quiet doing 80+
mph on the freeway.
Not the best-looking SUV, but it has
Toyota reliability so far.

Best Features

Many standard ‘extras’ come in handy in harsh weather (heated outside mirrors, heated seats, hepa air filters, front and back climate controls).

Worst Features

What would I change? Side or top opening tail gate. Better quality speakers/cavities. Offer larger rim wheel option. Reduce weight.
