I also got the part numbers for the Highlander or hybrid: 86271-GEN04-09 86271-33049 2004-2007 HIGHLANDER 86271-GEN05-09 86271-53024 2008-2011 HIGHLANDER 86271-GEN06-09 86271-73011 2011 HIGHLANDER Read More...

Highlander Hybrid re-torque drive shaft bolt

Re: Highlander Hybrid re-torque drive shaft bolt [rogcurtis]

I believe the answer is.....220 FT LBS. I found this spec on the ALL DATA website for the 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Apparantly this refers to the 4 (Four) driveshafts that extend from the electric motors to the wheel assemblies. They are attached with a 35MM nut at the axle end and are hammered over to prevent loosening. I posted a note on this subject long ago ... Read More...

New Toyota Highlander Hybrid Owners - Give Us Your Report

Re: 12 volt Starter Battery issues [toyotax2]

I share your pain. I also have a 2007 Highlander Hybrid and it has failed to start three times now in the last 7 months. The dealers keep saying that the battery was a little low. I don't trust this car anymore. I have never had a car this new that just plain will not start and there is nothing you can do except have it towed to the dealer. I think Toyota is sweeping this problem ... Read More...

Highlander Hybrid won't start

This is a 2007 model, Limited with all the electronic junk. Car failed to start three time in last 7 months. For some reason, the car does not start. You are stranded with no other recourse but to call a towing service. God forbids that you don't have your whole family in the car in the middle of nowhere. Dealers are not sharing anything about this problem other than ... Read More...

Highlander Hybrid Tire/Wheel Questions

Re: Tires [jeffb7]

The OE tires (GoodYear Integrity) on my 2007 Toyota Hybrid Highlander needed replacement at 18k. Livid, I went to a GoodYear service station where I first got a lot of doubletalk about OE not covered by warranty, I didn't rotate enough, it was alignment, pot holes blah blah blah. Finally I was told to speak with my Toyota Dealership. So I drove up the road. At my Toyota ... Read More...

Re: New Toyota Highlander Hybrid Owners - Give Us Your Report [cat46]

"Anybody out there know of a snow tire that will fit my HH? 245/55R19.." Yes, Bridgestone makes Blizzak tires in this size. So far that is the only ones I have found. I live in NE North Dakota and we have had a very snowy fall, and had lots of snow last winter (I bought my 2008 HH in Nov. 2007). It does great in the snow. I haven't been able to get it stuck even when trying to ... Read More...

Towing with the Highlander Hybrid

Re: Advice on installing Toyota's factory hitch? [montalvo]

I installed a 1/1/4" CoastalTech hitch on my 2004 Prius myself with no problems whatsoever. I ordered a 1 1/2" receiver hitch for my 2007 Highlander Hybrid (1/ 1/4" is not available) and found it much more difficult to install mainly because it weighs so much more. I ended up resting it on an increasing pile of bricks until it was close enough for me to get the bolts ... Read More...

Toyota Highland Hybrid Steering and Suspension Questions

2006 Highland Hybrid/Lexus RX400h power steering failures

I own a 2006 Toyota Highland Hybrid with 54K+ miles on it. Last week my power steering failed. Fortunately I was only trying to back out of my parking space and not driving down the interstate. I had the vehicle towed to a local Toyota dealership. Initially they said they had never seen this problem before and were unable to diagnose the problem. After a couple hours ... Read More...

Highlander Hybrid Tire/Wheel Questions

Re: 2007 HH burning thru tires [sven44]

Something is wrong with your car, take it to another dealer. It sounds like the 4 wheel alignment is wrong on your front tires. Perhaps they are both angling (toe) in and canceling each-other out, which lets you drive straight but wears out the tire. I replaced all four tires on my Highlander with the same Yokohama Avid H4S and so far I am extremely pleased with them. ... Read More...

New Toyota Highlander Hybrid Owners - Give Us Your Report

Re: 12 volt Starter Battery issues [toyotax2]

Agree with comments on dead battery and inability to start the Highlander Hybrid after minimal time periods of non-use. I own a 2007 Highlander Hybrid and have now experienced a dead battery and inability to start the car 3 times now. Once after about 3 weeks of non-use and twice after approximately 11 days of non-use. Took the car to the dealer who assured me that ... Read More...
