The lease on our base model 08 AWD Highlander concluded this month.
We very much enjoyed the 08 and decided to purchase a replacement.
On 12/18/2010 we picked up a 2011 with the tech package.
We especially appreciate the upgraded stereo/sat. radio, blue tooth, back up camera, and rear window hatch in the new vehicle.
The drive is identical to the 08.
No signficant problems noted following delivery...just a minor rattle from the rear hatch that we will have the dealer address at some point.
Seems reasonably well built, quiet, comfortable, and hopefully as reliable as the Highlander it replaced.
Though not particularly stylish, its reasonably attractive.
If buying the base model, the tech package is a "must have".
We like the black carpet and floormats with the beige interior...nice and sharp; should be easy to maintain.
Gas mileage is around 17 mpg in town, about 22 on the highway; not particularly great but about what one would expect from such a large vehicle.
Price increases rapidly with the addition of needed options.
