With its fuel-efficient engine lineup, full complement of safety features and available third-row seat, the Highlander is one of our top recommendations to those who need SUV utility but don't want any unnecessary bulk or fuel bills.

My 2005 Toyota Highlander is great, it is easy to get 25 miles to the gallon, and it is more socially appropriate considering my kid is going to high school compared to any minivan. Has over 100,000 miles on the odo and has the same comfort as my family friends' Lexus RX!
Personally am going to buy the newer hybrid version due to huge numbr of miles on car.

This is the 2nd Toyota I've purchased in 7 years because of my wonderful experience with our 98' 4Runner (which we stil own). Reliability and value drove us to buy another Toyota - glad we did! The 05' Highlander w/4cyl is very smooth and responsive. Gas mileage is a bit off (20/25) as compared to the sticker (22/27) but it's still new. Comfort is outstanding; 3rd row is very nice to have. Overall, a smooth and reliable vehicle... no regrets. Pricing was very good for what I got...

This SUV feels like driving a car, but you feel secure as you're driving an SUV. The seats fold flat and this gives enough space to haul just about anything. The 3rd row seat makes me feel like I saved a good $10,000. Look around for a 4cyl w/3rd row seat, or any SUV with 3rd row seat. $40K + if your lucky. Now try to find an SUV that you spend $35.00 on unleaded plus and try driving for 14 days every day to work on $35.00. I live about 15 miles from work and go out occasionally on weekdays and weekends. With the gas at it's highest $40.00 will get me thru 2 weeks. Every time my wife and I go out, even strangers like our SUV. So far I haven't heard any complaints from other Highlander owners.
