Dynamics
Superb engine, transmission and braking performance combine to make the FJ extremely capable off road. It's on-road manners are compromised by the dirt-focused design.
Comfort
Wind and road noise are noticeable but tolerable. Ride comfort is good for a focused off roader.
Function
Rear seat entery/exit is hampered by clamshell door design as is rear-quarter visbility. Rear seats don't fold completely flat. Interior controls are well designed and easy to use.
Design/Build Quality
FJ's retro styling actually works inside and it does so with little compromise to usability.
Off-Road Ready First and foremost the FJ is made for off roading. Very few production vehicles are this off-road capable.
Cargo Hauler Still an SUV, the FJ has folding rear seats which offer plenty of cargo room when stowed or allow four-passenger comfort when in place.
