It is an off road vehicle and better than a jeep. However, it has no visibility, like sitting in a bath tub. The cargo room and back seat is a joke. It is made well but a little outdated and the retro design at times is ugly. The engine is underpowered compared to an xterra and it is really a 2 seater vehicle. It is slow on the highway and the 4wheel drive system is horrible for the highway. I have my regrets.
Good quality, feels sturdy and feels like it will hold up. Bumpers and exterior are sturdy.
Do away with the swinging back hatch, worthless for putting cargo in. The back seat is worthless. Please get a more powerful engine.
Obviously you don't really own an FJ.
Everything that you complained about is either untrue or you're complaining about what makes an FJ what it is.
Maybe you would be better of with a Honda CRV or Murano.
Back seat is a joke and it's a two seat vehicle?
Funny, my wife sits in the back with our son in his large car seat, and she's 5'10" and has no issues.
The FJ has more backseat hip and head room than your precious Xterra.
Engine is underpowered compared to an Xterra?
Anyone that has ever driven an FJ has zero complaints about the engine.
What does a swinging back hatch have to do with "worthless for putting cargo in"?
Slow on the highway?
Um, sounds like it's your problem and you need to push down the gas more.
How about you stop going on websites pretending that you have things that you do not, and go back to your Caravan with the power hatch?
The front wheel drive and stow and go seating is more to your liking.
It's easier for you to squeal your tires of the green lights.
Please, stay out of the left lane grandpa, and loosen up your robe and ascot when you're at home in front of the fire because there's a snow warning, while the rest of us are going where we please.
No visibility? Sitting in bathtub? No cargo room? Outdated?
Did you buy this vehicle sight unseen.
You should of resolved these concerns when you looked at the vehicle.
It is your own fault that you bought it anyway.
