This is my second corolla and it is a solid car. Great mpg and more comfortable than I expected! The 1.8 is as good as it gets for an economy car and the sport look is outstanding. Got the package discount and what a difference that makes! The ride is steady and sure and the feel is vague at highway speed but that will take getting used to. Cheap plastic but this car stickered for the same as my 99 corolla with more features!

Favorite Features

sport package with wheels, spoiler, sunroof, great mpg

Suggested Improvements

Better seat material! Shows everything and is too thin.

Review

I felt compelled to write a review after reading Edmund's statements about Corolla being last in some survey. I truly am extremely happy. Averaging 30mpg combined hwy/local. Very nice look external and internal. Seats more comfortable than the Civic which I previously owned. Quiet. Handles tremendously well. Accelerates smoothly including uphill. Auto shifts smoothly. Multi-CD player sounds great. It's the smooth ride I think really impresses and the nice design. Then just add the quality - confidence this will last 100-200k miles or more.

Favorite Features

Hard to pick. MPG, quality, reliability, design.

Suggested Improvements

I can't think of anything I'd change. Those who'd pay for a better stereo can always add it.

Review

My Dad still drives his '94 Camry. So when I wanted a reliable car, I went with Toyota. The 2010 Corolla LE is fantastic. Very aesthetically pleasing design, comfortable seats with height adjustment. TONS of standard safety features (A big selling point), good enough engine with unbelievable fuel efficiency. A great AM/FM/CD/Aux sound system comes standard, as well. I did not encounter a very touchy steering wheel at all. It controls very well. The brakes are responsive and stopped me quickly in wet conditions without a skid. The abundance of standard airbags and ABS makes me more comfortable to transport friends or family.

Favorite Features

Really above average stereo. MP3 player input. Huge trunk. ABS!!!

Suggested Improvements

This car needs mud flaps. The underside just above the wheel wells gets abnormally dirty. The graduated automatic transmission shifter makes parallel parking a pain in the behind. Windshield is slightly too shallow, making me have to bend my head down to see stoplights at intersections.

Review

We shopped around quite a while for a "recession car" and finally arrived at the 2010 Corolla LE. We traded in a Jaguar for it. At first going from a Jag to a Corolla may seem like car shock, but my wife really loves the Corolla. The Corolla boasts a nice ride for a small car. The steering and handling feels safe and secure but not especially "sporty", but that doesn't bother us. The car is surprisingly quiet and gas mileage is ridiculously good. For a small car I'm impressed. The ride can't compete with an upscale car, but then again an upscale car can't compete with the Corolla's combination of practicality, low price and great gas mileage. We're VERY happy and highly recommend this car.

Favorite Features

MPG, visibility, better than expected comfort, intuitive easy-to-use knobs and controls, styling, price, quiet ride (minimal outside road noise). The center display is well laid out. I expect this to be a very reliable car, much like the 3 other Toyotas I have owned previously.

Suggested Improvements

Center arm rest could be moved a bit forward so it's more practical. The digital clock should be moved up a bit higher than where it is. (Toyota seems a bit challenged when it comes to clock placement; I have a 2003 Tacoma with a clock that you have to peer around the steering wheel to see).

I have an 07 Tundra , and an 06 corolla, and just purchased the 10 corolla. I have 500km and I cannot drive it in the rain. The wiper design stinks. The little wiper blade puts the rain water back in front of your face on the driver side. You lose vision in the rain and the snow.

Favorite Features

I love everything about this car except the design of the wipers.

Suggested Improvements

Wipers.

The Sporty Corolla S is a Joy to Drive

Review

This is my fifth Toyota purchase. I have never had any mechanical problems with any of my cars. I value dependability and Toyota delivers. I downsized from an Avalon XL to the much-smaller Corolla, and I don't regret my decision. My gas mileage is terrific and I can whip into the tightest of parking spaces with ease. The redesigned Corolla S is very attractive and it is a joy to drive.

Favorite Features

The Corolla has a sleeker body, appearing a bit larger and not as "boxy" as its predecessors. The rear spoiler adds to its appeal. The control panel is easy to view. Two glove compartments come in handy and the trunk is spacious. I love the way the car handles; the steering is great.

Suggested Improvements

The clock is positioned too low and is difficult to read while driving. I am shorter than the average driver and I need to use a cushion for greater visibility. It would be a plus if Toyota offered an optional power driver seat on its Corolla models.

Review

Overall it is not a bad car to drive. The transmission is really smooth and the car provides enough power for most drivers in this segment. Steering is electric and feels every bit of it; that is okay for some but not others. This is my first Toyota and I have to say I'm left underwhelmed. It's bland which is Toyota, but my car has not been "reliable". The interior dash rattles due to hard plastics it seems, had to take it in for the recall, fix a loose bracket on the muffler, and replace the front struts - all with under 8000KMS on it, and the bumper half came off when it brushed up against a curb. I don't suggest not buying it, but Toyota's quality might be slipping with this one.

Favorite Features

Interior console layout is easy to use, lots of room to haul stuff, fantastic fuel economy, milk carton holder in trunk, adjustable steering, comfortable seats, stability control on the cheap.

Suggested Improvements

- If you press lock on your key while a door is open the car makes a constant beeping sound until door is closed. - Make the lock and un-lock buttons backlit, this is annoying when it's dark out. - Use better materials. The dash is ripe with cheapest in the segment plastics.

I owned a 2008 Corolla and loved it. The steering and vibration problems with this model are a real problem. I've taken it back twice and the dealer isn't interested in the problem. Now I know why... they can't fix it!

Review

I've owned this car for 10 weeks and 4K miles. It was a big change from the Nissan Altima I've been driving for 10 years. Straight city driving gets 25-28mpg. Long road trips on the hwy get 33-38mpg. At 60mph, I get 38mpg: At 80mph, I get more like 33mpg. I notice the computer mileage shows about 2mpg higher than the figures I get the old fashioned way. I've stated the old-fashioned fill-up and calculate method. My husband is 6ft3in, and loves this car. He fits very well in the interior, and even the backseat isn't too bad. 2 children with booster seats fit nicely in the back. We love this sporty S model, much more so than we would have a standard model.

Favorite Features

Manual trans is smooth and fun to drive. Bluetooth can have difficulty discerning the correct phone numbers, but we still love it. We already got our satellite radio added, and it was well worth it. Even though it's a small car, it surprisingly has just as much room as our old mid-size car.

Suggested Improvements

Adjustable intermittent wipers. Clock on the radio, rather than the dash computer. Steering really seemed off to me at first, although I've gotten used to it. Steering almost seems too responsive. Turn the wheel even a bit, and this little car is headed there in a blink. Can't oversteer in this.

I love my new Corolla! I average 36mpg. I really searched for a car with great mpg that was affordable too. The LE has all the features I wanted. The radio is good, interior is roomy and comfortable. Excellent choice! Toyota really does a great job making cars for petite people! Thank you!

Favorite Features

MPG! Radio, Ipod hook-up.

Suggested Improvements

Move the clock up to eye level.
