Thanks, Mr. Shift. I plan to check with the dealer where I bought the car rather than the one in my hometown to see if they reach the same conclusion. I previously test-drove several different 2009 Corollas and I found the same problem in all of them. "Tendency to lane-wander at highway speeds unless closely watched" pretty well describes it. You didn't say if the noise is from the front or rear brakes or both. I would speak to the service manager. Usually noise can be a result of dirty parts, vibration, or even cheap parts. Providing all parts are clean an upgrade to better quality pads/shoes and a thorough inspection of involved parts should quiet your brakes. Of course this assumes nothing mechanical ... Read More...

I've been defending the new EPS on this site for months. I have a 2009 and just love the new steering. My XLE does not wonder one bit. This is my third Corolla and my fifth Toyota, I wouldn't buy anything else. I have a 2009 Corolla that I purchased in June 08. It has 22,000 miles on it and it on it's third set of brakes, with 4000 miles on the newest set of brakes and they are squealing again, have been since about 1000 miles. Actually, I'm not sure it was an actual recall but a documented problem, I think they replaced a strut mount. As far as the radio goes, I think it's just a poor quality radio they put in the car, unfortunately, it sounds so bad I can't listen to it. Has anyone had this problem? I bought my 2009 Corolla in May of last year. My radio has poor reception and static. I've had Toyota look at it several times and they tell me the radio "is working normally". They replaced it once, same problem.
