I own an '04 Corolla which I bought new. I never experienced any real discomfort in the driver seat. I've banged my knees against the dashboard at exiting mainly. I believe that Toyota should make it a little higher, but that means that they will have to push the roof upwards or tall people wouldn't fit. The car is already tall. You definitely have too much time on your hands. Wow, you don't have to be hateful about it. If you are taking my posts about a vehicle so personally, I'm not sure I should be the one re-evaluating my personality and life. Well of course it's my opinion. I can get in and out of a Corolla perfectly fine. But the wheel is WAY too far away from me when the seat is set for my legs. I bought a Black 2008 Toyota corolla CE with Power windows and Power locks for $15500 out the door (tax/title/fees etc) from Palm Beach Toyota in West Palm Beach . A friend of mine bought the same configuration before the new year (Dec 31, 2007) for $15000 when the rebate was $1500. Now that the rebate is only $1000, the dealer did not go down to $15000. Well, if the weight gain yields benefits in structrual rigidity - which according several reviews, it has, then I think it an acceptable gain given that the new Corolla is still one of the lighter vehicles in its class.
