    Which is why I had ZERO issues with my '99. I changed my oil frequently, NEVER went over 5,000 miles or 6 months, so mine did not use oil. So I will say that the car did not have enough tolerance for neglect.

    It wasn't because the pistons were too small. The drainback holes behind and below the oil rings were too few and too small. Under the right conditions they could clog with coked oil.

    Hmm. I had a 1999 that I had until 130,000 miles - NO issues with oil consumption. It used same amount of oil at 130,000 miles as when it was new. I used Castrol GTX 5W-30 dino oil, changed at 4,000 miles or 6 months. Awesome car, never replaced anything except VERY routine maintenance.     I have a 2007 Corolla with the same problem. Driving in the highway is a stressful experience for I need to constantly adjust the steering to keep the car on the road(to go straight). Toyota should adress this problem else people will run away from it's products.

    Probably not since I have driven test models before and never had problems in the past when buying a new car. The only right thing for me to do is never buy a toyota again.

    I believe there is a thread to discuss "Toyota Corolla Recalls". Anyway, NO my car was not affected by the EPS problem, I made sure of that when it came in from delivery. This is something you and Biff should have done a little more extensively to avoid the problems you are now having.

    I think generally toyota corolla and Honda civic (i own one) are good cars. But i don't think they are as good as before. Hyundai and Mazda are making better cars (check 2010Mazda 3). Just check out all the complaints about civic & corolla http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/ In summary, the corollas have been hit with steering complaints and the civic (2006-2007) models hit with cracked engine blocks yikes

    I love my 07 Corolla but I live in NH and when the temp drops down into the 20's or lower the washer nozzles seem to freeze making me unable to clear the windshield. I have tried several brands of washer fluid all rated to -20 or -25 degrees below 0. Does anyone know if there is a Toyota bulletin on this, is there a fix?

    just want to let you know that the Toyota rep I talked with today blamed my paint chips on bird droppings which was contrary to the dealer blaming it on rocks. I learned that Toyota started painting thier cars with environmentally friendly water/based paint recently which isn't as durable at the paint they use to use. On the hood, the front door edges, near the back windows, etc. In one spot on the hood it looks like a bubble has formed.     The term "rice-rocket" is typically used to describe those cars you were speaking of that have giant coffee can mufflers on them, as well as huge wheels, decals, and big wings. Typically its done by people my age or younger to cars like Civics. A "ricer" would be someone who does that.
