impressions are all positive. Good quality materials for the interior. Manual shifter takes some breaking in as well: at first, downshifting from 5th to 4th was a bit awkward, but not anymore. Nice handling and great fuel mileage. Overall, a very decent car that is great for everyday use as a car for people who drive a lot or those who would like to buy a car and forget the hassle of owning a gas guzzler. There isn't enough said about how a fuel- efficient car improves one's outlook on gasoline prices. You simply stop to notice them. My car so far is getting 32 mpg in the city. 40 is the norm on the highway.
Favorite Features
Manual transmission, floor mats and keyless entry.
Suggested Improvements
Improved driver seat positioning. It is not awkward, just a little bit more awkward than some other cars.

I traded in my 2003 Honda Element for the new 2004 Toyota Corolla S Type. The Element was not fuel efficient at all and didnt handle weather conditions well. Also, there were many blind spots in the vehicle especially when you stow the back seats. The moon roof and back windows were too far back to reach. Everything but the front windows and side mirrors was manual. Corolla had it all including daytimer light switch, passenger seat belt alert, moon roof upfront, awesome stereo system, and the look and feel of a luxury car.
Favorite Features
Moon roof, remote lock, stereo system, comfortable seats, excellent handling of road conditions.

Decent car...tends to get blown around on the highway. My CD player doesnt fit right into my dash...and seal around drivers side rear fell off, both will get addressed at next o/c. Car gets great gas mileage and has little road noise. Brakes are great, and roomy interior.
Favorite Features
Standard CD, intermit. wipers, i like that you can shut off the dash lights, and LATCH for my daughters car seat!
Suggested Improvements
A lil' better build quality, i have some rattles and loose stuff. Also, why do I still have to beg for floor mats...make them STANDARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't go wrong with a Toyota

If you want value and saftey with a sound ride and roominess to boot, then the Corolla is for you! No sense in trying the Toyota/GM Matrix/Vibe! Why spend the extra dough on looks? It gets worse gas milage, doesn't have any more usable room, and is half GM (need I say more). Go with reliability. Go with Toyota!
Favorite Features
Roominess (for a compact), style, value

window handles are a bit cheesy feeling. I have power locks but not windows(which I really like not having) and the window handle is petite. it needs to be a little bit bigger and sturdier. Thats my only con!

2004 Toyota Corolla S 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I like my Corolla. It's my first corolla, but my third Toyota. However, I was disappointed that my S model didn't have cruise control. It's not the base model, so I don't know why it's not there. Rather unfortunate, as I've gotten two speeding tickets. Variable intermittent wipers would have been nice, but I guess they have to save some features for the highest model. It also seems like I have a harder time seeing out the back when backing. The high rear end may be part of that, as may the rear headrests, but I wonder if the design of the ... what are they called, roof supports? ... may also contribute.
Favorite Features
I like the increasing amount of chrome and the round lights. Of course, that is a trend with most car models these days
Suggested Improvements
This may be a bit silly, but it would be nice if rolling down the windows would squeegie the dew off, as with most other cars I've owned.

One thing that is great is how long your car will last. My boyfriend has an 1985 Toyota Corolla and his car is still as reliable as mine. This is what encouraged me to purchase one. I would suggest this buy for anyone.

A surprise 'sports car'
Vehicle
2004 Toyota Corolla LE 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I've always had a sports car(Volvo P1800,RX7,CRX)in addition to our primary vehicle, so I was not too keen on replacing such with a 5 passenger economy car. What a surprise our 2004 Toyota Corolla has been--it's a ball to drive! I miss the gutsy engine sound of yore, but accelleration and handling are on par with the Honda CRX Si. Plus I can now take 3 passengers along. All the emphasis on 'fun cars' nowadays is on overpowered premium fuel burners. If you're looking for a practical 'pocket rocket' check out this car. Note: I had to special order to get LX with 5 speed manual. Only the LX comes with height adjustable driver's seat--which I found neccessary.
Favorite Features
Inexpensive to buy and maintain, good performance, excellent gas mileage--so far 32mpg around town and 44mpg on first trip, comfortable seats, Toyota reliability.
Suggested Improvements
Steering wheel is about 1 to 2 inches farther away than I"m used to. A fore and aft adjustable wheel would be nice.
