Adding Power Windows and Cruise Control to Toyota Corolla CE

Adding Power Windows and Cruise Control to Toyota Corolla CE

i own a 2003 Toyota Corolla CE basic addition with no options. I received the car through a family member who died. The car has only 23,000 miles and is in excellent condition. I love the car but I really miss cruise control and power door locks. No there are no solenoids in the doors. How difficult and expensive to add these two options at this point. Any suggestions ... Re: 2004 toyota corolla grinding bearing noise when cold [ed2004corolla]

I was reading the post, and I know it is almost a year old, but I am having the same issue with my 2003 Corolla. A grinding type noise when the car is cold, and it goes away when it warms up. I took it to the shop and they said it was the belt tensioner, but I don't believe that based on the noise and where it is coming from. Were you able to find the cause? Read More...

Dead Car

I drive a 2003 Toyota Corolla and it has begun to miss a little when I'm on the road. I also noticed when I would start the car that it would start by turning over slowly then would speed up. Last night, it wouldn't start at all and I thought that it was the battery, but all the lights were on and they didn't dim when I would try to turn the motor on. There was no clicking noises.....nothing. ... Read More...

Door trouble

Some of the covering on the door by the windows is coming loose on my 2003 Toyota Corolla as well as the passenger arm rest panel covering. Any suggestions? Is this a common problem? Also, the door locks won't work in the car. They are manual and not electrical. The windows are manual, also. Any suggestions for fixing this will be greatly appreciated. Read More...

Re: STEERING is Unfixable [terceltom]

My problem (there's that pesky "P" word) isn't that it is Electric, its that it has no steering feel whatsoever, sort of like an old truck. Unacceptable in this day and age where we have trucks that actually HAVE steering feel these days. And before you chalk it up to being all electric, there are EPS systems that provide nice steering feedback and a healthy amount ... Read More...

Re: 98 Corolla Sedan Water Pump Question [geoblue]

>It is not your usual Detroit crap I noticed the comment about US brands. It should be possible to talk about Corollas without trying to denigrate US brands. As for water pumps, my GM's since 1981 have never needed one. Last three were 150K miles (wife made me trade it), 169K miles on a 1998 currently own at 11 years, and a 2003 at 83K. I have spent little at the dealer ... Read More...

Toyota Corolla for winter driving

Re: Toyota Corolla for winter driving [neelamsethi]

Also an all season tire made for the Corolla work great in the snow. I am on my 2nd Corolla (2003 & 2005 ) and they perform well. If you get stuck, the best way to get out is rock the car, but avoid spinning excessively as much as possible.I have also used kitty litter or Oil Dry under the tires for added traction to get out of a snow rut. :) Read More...

Re: 2005 to 2009 Comparo [nippononly]

"What seems ironic to me is that the Civic, which seemed a bit overpriced since '06, suddenly seems less so. I have now driven the two back to back and while it is obvious the Corolla benefits from being quieter, pretty much everything else about the Civic seems better, even the weird dash displays." I waited for the 2009 Corollas to come out before making my decision. ... Read More...

Toyota Corolla Real World MPG

"Liquid Gold"

In April I started using a new fuel additive in my 2003 Toyota Corolla with 78K miles. I was skeptical at first but was given a free trial sample and with gas locally now over $4.00/gallon, I decided I had nothing to lose by trying it. My baseline MPG in a combination of city and freeway driving (65%/35%) was 25MPG (estabished over three tanks). I started using the ... Read More...

Re: Buying a Used 2003-2007 Toyota Corolla Review [irismg]

Honda service/parts aren't too much different from Toyota these days. I get my oil changed at Wal-Mart, and am buying shocks from a Midas-style place soon. A new timing belt is due on my red one at 180k miles, and that won't be done at a dealer either - just a local mechanic shop with a good reputation. Yes, I typically can discern Accords from each other by generation. ... Read More...
